Wasn't quite sure what to say to maybes so I ignored it for bit then later asked how her show was. Then she was saying she had to get to sleep and said goodnight.
Really don't see the point in saying goodnight back does it matter?

In your case, I agree with everything said above. I don't say good night unless the girl is spending the night with me..It almost seems to close of a thing to initiate. I would say good night to my friend if I got done texting him. I would say talk to you later or something else. Only posting this in case someone else looks at this post and thinks its actually about whether or not to say good night to a girl and techniques like i did, not just advice. Being a sweet, endearing, nice guy is one of three reasons most people research pick up because girls don't like overly sweet nice guys. I used to be that way so I'm staying away from it.
