Hello, first post.

Felt compelled to join the forum after a night out at the weekend, and wondered what you guys would have done in my situation.

I'd say I was fairly good looking (7/8 on a good day) but can't chat up women to save my life.

Was in a club with just me and my mate. Friend went out for a smoke so I was sat by myself. Girl from a group of women next to me, who was maybe a 6 or 7, says "you not like dancing?"

Couldn't think of a clever response so just said "not by myself no".

She then says "You know what I think you should do. You should buy me a drink."

Now I clearly wasn't going to get up like a dog and go buy her one, but my best response of "I'm pretty sure it's your round" was met with a shrug, her making a face to her mates and pretty much ending any chance I had with them either.

How would you have handled that situation?

Any girl that's worth dating, will dismiss you if you don't buy her a drink. She's taking that as a rejection. Also buying a girl a drink is can also be viewed as a sign that you're not just using her for sex.

Also you judge yourself as being a 7/8, but you're probably inflating yourself.. PM me a picture of yourself, and I'll give you my judgement.

a great response i've seen used with reasonable success was something along the lines of 'only if you buy me one' with a smile.

that way it doesn't come across as a rejection but you're not the pushover paying for her buzz.

I might have said something like "That depends on how well you dance.." or "May be I will, but you have to earn it. " and make a little game out of it where she dances with me first and then I buy her a drink. A little reward system.
But considering I'm a noob, I would like your opinions on this.
