Howdy fellas, hope I'm posting this in the right forum.

Anyways, I got a girls number at a club last night after a short hookup and a 1/2 hour chat about the usual clubbing/work/uni etc. Told her I'd call her and arrange a night out in the city, or at the same club we met (I made a point of not mentioning a date, but just another meet up at a club). My goal here is simply to take her out with a small group, then get her back to mine.

My problem is: due to Christmas Eve being next Saturday, then New Year's after that, and a week's holiday for myself down the coast following that, I won't actually have a chance to get to the city for about three weeks.
Obviously I'm going to text her in the next few days, so she'll have my number and to make initial contact. Normally it wouldn't be an issue to arrange a night out the following weekend, or the one after that, but as I said earlier, I won't be able to arrange that night for several weeks.
I'm worried I won't be able to maintain her interest until I'm able to see her next (as contact will be primarily through text), so do you guys have any ideas as to how I might go about doing this?

Also, as a side note, does anyone have any good texting material for the first text? Something a bit more interesting than 'how was the rest of your night/weekend' etc.

You're right on avoiding small talk. If i haven't communicated in a while, I usually text a question she has a good chance of answering - if you're in NYC "hey, how much is the fare on the LIRR", if you know she's been to Vegas "would you recommend the MGM grand to a buddy of mine who's going there next week." Those are good because it opens the opportunity for negs if she doesn't know. Something opener-esque is fine too - "Settle an argument between me and my friends: southern accent - hot or not."

Basically, you're imitating the idea of openers - you're not talking to the girl bc you have your sights set on her, you're talking to her bc she just happens to be socially available. After that, control the flow of texts, but keep the text conversation relatively short. If she small talks, small talk back for a few messages then say you're busy with something and you'll chat later. If she doesn't, remind her that she should prepare for a fun/kickass night when you guys hit the town again.

Awesome bro. The 'socially available' thing you mentioned sounds solid, I'll be trying that settle an argument line.
