So i started reading about PU about a week ago and haven't had an opportunity to try it until last night. I went to a small party/get together (about 20 ppl) and saw this hb9 right when i walked in.

didn't go up to talk to her right away. Instead I said hi to everyone I knew first and then went over and introduced myself to some guy and an hb7 who i thought might be his gf.

We talked for a bit then I went to go get a beer and the HB9 and her HB7 friend were over there. So i opened the 2 set. I found out what school they went to and it turned out we had a few mutual friends. I ejected and went to go talk to a few of my friends near the BP table.

Next thing I know the 2 girls are striking up a conversation with me.Later on the other HB7 came over too. I joke around a bit with both of them, but keep more eye contact with the HB9. Eventually I isolated(ppl were still around, but it was just me and her talking) I was lightly kinoing her and negging her.

She was playing along and I was making her laugh, but she was kinda negging me too(not sure what that means). She was kinoing me and I was getting IOIs so being a pussy I said, I didn't catch your name earlier(i knew her name) she told me and I said "I'm gonna add you on FB". Shoulda #close but I didn't.

After that she said "Oh! lemme add you too" even though only one person needs to sends a friend request.(?) I had to leave shortly after but we hugged and I left.

Things I did right:
- Engaged everyone around HB9 first to show social proof
- Engaged 2 set as a whole
- negged
things I did wrong:
- Could have DHVd more
- Faced her in conversation a little too much (Body lang said I was interested)
- Didn't kino escalate (had to leave party half an hour after meeting, didn't wanna be creepy and escalate too fast)
- Didn't # close

And feedback helps. Might try to chat her up on FB and get her # that way.

Here's the best way to put this party in perspective for you:

This night won't change you. I guarantee you negged incorrectly, you can see that you went for the close badly, but even realizing it won't help you at the party next weekend. To do that, you need to go out over and over again. Practice makes perfect, nothing else does.

Keep writing, recording your mistakes and successes, but nothing can change you but you.

Does that mean I created too much comfort and not enough attraction?
Or did she just need a way to start a conversation?

Yeah it's probably code for "Friend Zone." Still, the proper thing to do here is go for a close, even if it fails, joke about it in a non-self-deprecating way, and you get a cool friend.

Woot woot not 100% soild but hey u tried.. ok time for a kodax break down. I dont think you negged wrong, hb9s and (the rare) 10s will neg you back.. its a playfull game. The best part is, you dont have to win.. if she hits you with a good neg and you dont have anything to come back with, just smile and say "repect". At least she knows you can play the game.

If it went like you said you should have number closed.. but no worries there is always next time.
