all my friends think im a riot (girls too) but whenever HB7 and up run in to me I start to get nervous and then (heres the weird part) I start to act tired and just turn around and put my head down. I cant ever think of anything interesting to say. my life is pretty uneventful, my daily activities normally consist of WoW and guitar. I have alot of friends who are HB7 and up but I'm never more than best friends. WTF is wrong with me?

What do you mean by being a riot? I suppose it must be a form of slang.

I know what you mean friend. Here's something I'm trying:

1) HB spotted. Walking towards you. OMG-OMG-OMG
2) Urge to look away/retreat. RESIST this. Fight it. Make it your enemy.
3) Obtain and hold eye contact with HB for as long as you can. Do not smile unless she smiles. Do not say "hi" until either she does OR you are about 1 to 2 feet from passing her.
4) Keep walking, feel GOOD about what you did.

Now if you get an occasional conversation started, that's good too. No advice on how to handle that part, as I'm having some problems of my own there as you can see in my thread in this section of the forum. But no matter what, associate the experience with something GOOD and POSITIVE.

Good luck dude.

first you need to get rid of wow, guitar is ok, can be a very effective sarging tool.

A few quick little tid-bits of advice...

1) When I walk towards a HB, I have a smile on my face. I get this smile by thinking: 1) I could totally nail her if I wanted too...and 2) think of something really funny that happened recently.

2) Don't get rid of WoW - it is something you like. I play CS:S, and it doesn't make me "nerdy" or any less of a PUA. Its who you are. I've tried to change what I like to do it "fit" in with the generic guys who get the chicks...doesn't work because you are not them!!!!

I have to agree with djrock21. I have no idea what WoW is, but if it's something you enjoy, and it doesn't eat up an entire day, go for it.

As for your question.

A totally hot girl can definitely flip some switches in the old Lizard Brain. I know where you're coming from with that. Here's one approach that might work for you. Be honest. Here's the scenario

You see HB10 walking your way, or standing next to you at party, or whatever.
You: Oh god, I can't even talk to you
Her: Why not?
You: I get too nervous around women I like. It's too bad too, 'cause you seem really friendly.
Her: Why do you get nervous?
You: I'm afraid you'll find out I'm a millionaire and then just marry me for my money instead of my personality. (or some other joke that does NOT lower your value)

And so on.

So let me break it down. You say something that will get her interest, let her know that you're a little nervous, but that just makes you that much cooler for breaking through your nervousness and approaching her, so it actually demonstrates you've got balls. Clever? Yup.

I'd love to hear other approaches to this common situation.

Good luck, and may the flirt be with you. :D

Oooh good one, think I'll remember it.

As for WoW, if it's affecting your social life, get rid of it. In other words, if the prospect of "gaining a level" in WoW sounds just as good as gaining a HB's attention, then you'll have to make a choice right now between the two.

Hah, love the south park reference. But yeah, I agree with most of the guys here not to ditch on WoW if its something you do enjoy so long as it doesn't affect you when you do go out or affect the amount of times you go out. I play a decent amount of RPGs, but when I get too into it I find myself putting girls out of mind, but I've learned to prioritize and the second I turn off the game I turn off that frame of thinking. I usually throw on a couple of peacocks before going out at night or even to class just to get myself in the pick up frame of mind. For me sometimes I don't throw on a peacock to catch a girls attention but just to get my personal confidence up and get in the pick up mood. It helps. I usually throw on a ring or two. Hell, if you want, think of it like throwing on a ring in WoW that gives you pick up powers. I know Mystery discusses a lot in introduction pick up workshops to treat picking up girls like a videogame, one step at a time and when you fail, just hit the restart and go at it again.

Correct me if I'm wrong aRdoslav, but isn't your avatar a Starcraft image. So if you play WoW you're a loser, but Starcraft is for PUAs. That makes a ton of sense. I know tons of "losers" obsessed with Starcraft. Its all about being able to let go of it. If he can let go thats fine. I hope to God you can break free from your battle against the Zerg from time to time. If you're going to criticize "social destroying activities," look within first.

WoW is different than most games. Scientists have determined that up to 40% of those who play the game are as strongly addicted to it as alcoholics are to alcohol. Not cool.

I know quite a few people who have had their life ruined by WoW. It steals both time and emotional energy if you have to play everyday. I would suggest that you didn't play WoW at all but if you only do it now and then there is most likely no harm done.

Thanks for the advice guys, I actually picked up an HB9 with that shy opener and # closed her. Also I have completely dropped the tired act.
