Me:Really liked your profile. You seem cool. but I need to find out if you're interesting.

What are three things your friends would say about you if I were to talk to them?
Make it exciting! Lol.

Also, you'll have to tell me how the new Gears of War is. :) (One of the things she mentioned she couldnt do without was Gears of War)

HB:Well i know they'll say i have the weirdest thinngs happen to mee. And the new Gears is alright in the horde you have to pay for ammo and guns:/ also 2 people die):

I'd like to think of a way to possibly tease her about only giving me one thing in the response as well. Any ideas?

Naturally, I would go "So it's like a poor man's Gears of War :O I suspect that you're the kind of girl that collects garbage off of the street and makes them into artistical paintings. We could make a living off that ;) But seriously, what's your story?"

That's how i would put it. As for the opener itself, it was good but it's not compelling enough and that's why most girls won't invest in it.

So instead of saying that you liked her profile, express how it compelled you. "Your devious smile charmed me to your profile, you seem like you're street smart - I need a partner in crime to protect me in these rough neighbourhoods, can you fire a pistol? :P" It turns it playful.

Now if you want to go with the 3 things about you, I generally would lighten it up with "I don't know what it is about you, but I'm curious... I want to unravel you as if you were some Professor Layton puzzle, tell me 3 things about you"

You basically give the conversation depth and silliness, it's a powerful combination online.

I see what you are saying. As for the follow up, is that enough to move the conversation along? I often have a problem of the conversation dying after the opener. If that works, I may rethink on how I transition.

"Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one who weird things happen to. Today, I was walking to *insert high value thing here* and a random guy tried to hand me a $100 bill to park his car. wtf, do I look like a valet driver?

What about you? Tell me a story!"

Oh, and I agree with this. Experience tells me that a lot of woman aren't going to feel invested enough at the beginning to start complying with that question. It worked this time, but as you probably noticed she didn't even spend the time thinking through the three things. She just quickly shot off one and moved onto something more interesting. I've found that those kind of questions work better later in the interaction.
