My name is Red,
New to the game but willing to learn. Just tired of watching all the pretty girls pass me by. I have a lot of sticking points but the main ones for now are material and closing. I have no fear of approaching but from there is gets tricky. Dont know when to quit or keep at it when working on a set. Did I use that right?

The easy answer is to watch body language: IOI & IOD (Indicators of Interest or Indicators of Disinterest). For example, you approach a set and run your opening material. The group turns to face you more head on showing itnerest with their body language. This is called the "hook" point. If the set hooks stay and continue through A2 and so on. If you don't have the hook, cut the opening "Thread" and stack another opening or routine to see if you get the hook. If you do great stay, if not then eject. You have built in your False Time Constraint, use it and move to the next set.

Stay concious of your target and obstacles body language. Are they reinitiating conversation with you, are they touching their hair, keeping eye contact, facing you, asking questions about you like your name, or if you have a girlfriend, are they laughing at your jokes? If these answers are yes stay.

Are they looking away when you are talking. Do they have their shoulder turned toward you. Are they trying to talk amoungst themselves to make you uncomfortable, are they not engaged in the conversational, are they giving little fake laughs to be polite? If yes, then eject.

Hope this helps. You can look for more about body language, IOI, IOD by using the search tool.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

J SMOOTH
