Well first off, I am a healthy guy, 29 years old. I run distance so I have a lean muscular look to me but I'd like to enhance that and I eat like absolute shit. I drink a few nights a week and also eat a lot of garbage like burgers, wings, pizza, drink a lot of soda. It's not good. I'll buy fruit and veggies a lot and wind up throwing them away because they go bad. I need to get myself on a plan and see how it works, maybe even try something quasi vegetarian. Anyone have any good tips or pointers..or good plans to try?

Like I said I run and also work all day as a letter carrier. I'd love to eat right so I could find more energy to get into things like cycling and of course fucking ;)

Eat smaller meals, more frequently.

Protein, Carbs, Fats. Good fats that is.

Smaller portions, every 2 - 3 hours. One bad meal a week.

if you cant shake the cravings or life gets a little lazy you can do a basic carb cycle..every 3rd day i eat crap with a little protien hopefully but for the other two days one day will be low carb high protien and approapriate protion of fats and one day will be average carb high protien and fats..
you can sit on a healthy bodyfat doing this the advantage is the craving for crap is only ever 2-3days away.

so it could look like
Sun high carb, monday medium carb, tuesday low carb wed medium carb thir high carb friday medium carb, saturday low carb... or something similar..

I have a great tip for you :) Eat like a vegan, but don't drop the meat :)
Just eat a lot of veggies (raw and cooked), they're not calorically dense, so eating quality meat is great with it. The thing about drinking alcohol is that you crave junk the next day. Try limit the junk food to one day per week, don't totally drop it.
You could try eating more fruits when appropriate. Keep your macros and get carbs from fruits and some good starches like sweet potato, yellow corn (beware of gluten in cereals). Properly soaked legumes are awesome for carbs and protein, and are very low in fat.
Maybe you should try limiting your fat intake to about 20% of your calories.
The only thing I would recommend you drop is junk and commercial dairy products, that stuff is poison.
So generally, up your veggies, fruit, legumes, good starches. Eat meat moderately. Fats sparingly. Drop the junk.
You'll feel awesome!
If you want some good recipes just ask. What are your macros SPAM? I don't think you should go overboard with the protein, maybe 50-30-20 or 60-25-15, or just wing it for the time being concentrating on your veggies.
Cheers!
Edit, just saw what you do for work, don't limit the fat intake. Coconuts, coconut oil, some nuts and seeds are great sources of fat. Of course fattier pieces of meat, ain't nothing wrong with animal fat.
