damn for a forum for guys who know a lot about women, i'm suprised with the little people know about gaining muscle.

slowplay's the only one i've read decent posts from IIRC.

But i digress, I'm a powerlifter, I don't really care what my physique looks like but i'm in decent shape, have a 6 pack when i need one, the 2 months of summer. other than that a kinda 2 pack gut but i don't care.

Girls from this side of the pond tend to like guys who work out but especially love big arms and big legs. By all means train to enhance your appearance, but I've always found doing it for women weird, but then again i'm more concerned with strength.

Good to see a lot of interest in weights etc anyways!

don't compete yet, looking to get in my 1st comp soon.

My current total @ 102kg is 180/125/230 but I'm due a max out soon. Those numbers are raw and in kg by the way. Yourself?

I've done a couple contests (APF and IPF). Getting ready for my 3rd on Feb 16th.

I'm 18, compete @ 275, 500/370/485 (squat and dead are raw, bench was in a single ply shirt). I'm going to be competeing in this next meet in a suit for the first time, so should be interesting

cool so in UK terms you'd be 227.5/168/220 @ 125 kg. That is a NICE squat there man! As soon as i hit a 600kg raw total (200/140/260) i'm gonna compete, @100kg. Good luck with your next comp!

Thanks :) . My squat's always been oddly-higher then my dead/bench.

600kg raw would be sick; not too far away now.

Happy training

Ok can I get some advice, I go to the gym regularly all my life and eat healthy. Quick question, is too much apple juice bad for you?

Thanks

Maybe, but Im stuck at sea and we have no water here. As someone who watches what they eat very carefully, 2 litres of apple juice a day seems a bit to much..

How long is a peice of string? Answering this will take more knowledge then I have, but some things to look at would be:
-goals
-insulin sensitivity
-time your drinking (in relation to sleep and training)
-rest of your diet
among I'm sure other things

Just some input.. I'm 6`1 245lbs currently... even the way I look now... quite soft and teddy bear like I have gotten better with the ladies... Even that said I've been goin to the gym for just under 2 months now... When I bought my membership I was 275 LBS... just over a month and a half later i've lost 30 lbs... I've been eating a balanced diet taking EFA's (Essential Fatty Acids) I.E Fish Oil, and Megaman Sport Daily Multi Vitamin... I'm seeing great results!... For you hefty guys like myself DO NOT STARV YOURSELF!!! Or go on an extremely low Calorie diet... This will do 2 things... It will lower your energy day to day... as well as make the fat you burn A LOT easier to put back on! Diet and Excersize. Remember that weight liftin burns a TON of calories... For me Lifting First and doing around 25 to 30 mins of cardio afterward seems to work wonders.

Congrat vizion..

Yep, a lot of people become far too obsessive about it, then in a few months months they throw it down and go back to the prior behaviors.

What's important when first starting out is not necessarily how much you do, but that you do 'something' and gradually incorporate and increase these changes into your life full time.

Commit yourself to your new lifestyle for at least a year. Then it will become ingrained into your life. And don't punish yourself too much in the early going with fad diets, fasts or potentially injurious and destructive routines/supplements.

I'm often amazed at some of the advice I read, from 'some' guys in the body building or fitness community. Who seemingly think they are engaged in a competition with others for bragging rights. All apparently ego related.

Years ago when I was a competitive rock climber, such individuals were avoided like the plague. They were known as the quickest way to end up in the hospital or worse. And that's where most of them ended up.

The point being, beware of where you get your information. And if it seems too good to be true it probably is.
