I think that conversation went south pretty quickly. You failed to do several things that should seem pretty obvious. Online sarging should be like chatting it up with a good buddy. Act like the comfort is there already.

You didn't talk about yourself at all. Instead the statements you made were about her and other girls looks. You made her genuinely flattered, but so does every other shmuck.

What she really wants is to be respected for her brains and personality. The conversation you had was basically all about her looks. It seems you didn't even read her profile at all.

Try to open by commenting on a trait that she portrays through her profile. Being goal oriented, being laid back and down to earth, being a hard working mother. Make a short comment on that and then comment on how you relate to that someone. No questions in the openers are needed. Make it like 3 sentences customized to each girls profile and you'll definitely be seeing more replies with meaningful conversation.
