Wow I mean just wow how much of a difference a simple book can have, and I'm not even halfway through it. It's a life changer for inner game if you really take it in and follow the advice there. It's so simple it seems stupid but it really works for me. I went out on both friday and saturday and the first night was a complete disaster, got rejected by everyone. The usual me would be beating himself up stupid over it but reading the book I realized I was actually achieving things, I started to actually see the positive things (going out alone and approaching) I did. The next night I went out with a completely different mindset and BAM, my success with people in general went up like crazy. I had several girls come up opening to me, something that usually never happens for me.

It's one of my favorite books, I even have my grandmother reading that book. That book alone has changed my mindset on everything in life. I read it 4 months ago and have remained positive and let the laws of attraction run in my favor. I am also referencing that book alot on this forum.

There is also the power which is the next installment of that series I havent read it yet but I heard it has some of the same topics in the book as the secret.

I just finished this book a week ago. Oh the jolly!

Ever since I started reading it I've been visualzing more beautiful women in my life. Suddenly they are everywhere. HB's chatting me up on FB wanting to meet. Exotic tourists wanting me to take their picture, opening on me.

Could be luck. It could also be that the rule of attraction are undeniable which I consider most likely.

Guys can you give me some examples where you have put what you have learned in this book into practice and it has earned you positive results?

I too have read this book and I really like the principles off it. My problem is I struggle to think of ways to put the theory of this book into practice.

I suffer from low confidence. I don't really know why this is, probably mostly to do with my lack of finances at the current moment. I do think this book could help me improve my confidence and finances, would just like to know how though. My inner game definetly needs the most work.

Well I'm not finished with the book yet so I can't give you huge examples. But it has already made a difference in my mindset and thinking. I do some meditation and concentrate on things from the book and my anxiety and nervousness decrease dramatically. This of course makes a big difference when you go out and see people because your body language responds quite a lot to negative thoughts and emotions. Maybe it was very effective for me because I've spent a lot of time analyzing myself and my stumbling blocks so I have a good picture of my inner demons. Applying the things there was easy as I have a clear picture what I want and how I want to better myself.

Write a list on things you want to accomplish with your life.

Don't be modest, I've made a list like this that I look at once a day before doing my yoga and meditative training.

This helps me focus on what I want to improve in my life, then while stretching and meditating, I vizualize everything on the list as if it was something that was mine already. I smile throughout the process, and keep saying 'thanks' silently.

Alright I read the thing....Unique concept to say the least.

My only problem with this law of attraction is that it makes it look like you don't have to do anyhing but change your thoughts to change your life. Which well is just about only the hardest thing in the world.

Everbody has heard of the test where they ask subjects not to think about a polar bear right? What did they think about? Yes, polar bears! The mind is an reflex organ, it fills your head with hundreds of thoughts a day. Do you have any control over it? Yeah, but I hardly doubt that will be the dominant part of your day.

Anyways, I'm down for something new, I'll try some of the things mentioned out and see what happens.

From the outset it seems to be a reboot of the confidence can do anything - limit negative thoughts approach, the former is definitely the key part of the PUA success formula. Whether there is more too it than this, I don't know. I'm 40 odd pages in and so far it seems to be the above formula written in a way aimed at hiding the fact it is a reboot. This could however be a very good teaching method.

I'm a believer in vibes, silently conveying messages et al and maybe that's what this book is all about. I'll give it a good read and then apply the principles to my life.

I agree, it's hardly anything new what the book is about. I however found it well written and put together. The simplicity of it makes it quite easy to incorporate into your way of thinking.

This book needs to be taken with a grain of salt. I mean, it's got some good points, but the author either failed to properly communicate the meaning of the "law of attraction" or is just plain wrong:

To be fair, I do agree with the book in that thoughts are the seeds to success. Before you accomplish anything, you have to actually see yourself getting it. You have to believe you can get it, believe that you will get it, and believe that you won't not get it. The reason why this works though is that your body and mind are interconnected. What you think ultimately dictates what you do. So if you think and desire getting something (like really badly), then naturally your body will take the necessary steps to achieve that goal.

However, the Secret completely disregards the fact that you actually need to do things to get your goals. It simply stops at the thinking part and leaves the doing part in obscurity. For your information, you do need to actually take proactive steps in accomplishing anything.

As well, some examples in the book are just plain retarded. There was a story about some guy, Jason (?), who thought long and hard about a feather, and then two days later came across that exact feather on his way to work. The feather matched his mental one down to the most minute of details... voila! Does anyone see the stupidity of this illustration? Congratulations, you happened to find a feather that you happened to think about two days prior. What about all the times something like that didn't happen? I dream about having threesomes with megan fox and angelina jolie all day. Very detailed too. Never happened :(

Another claim the Secret makes is that in order to lose weight, you simply need to think it. FFUUUUUU!!! Are you kidding me. I've spend 2 years of my life studying nutrition and I can tell you that you will not lose weight unless your caloric intake is less than your caloric output. This is fact. Yet the Secret blatantly claims that calories don't matter (seriously, the author actually says that "calories don't matter").

So that's my review. Take what you can from that book, but leave the grandiosity behind for another day.
