I was at an Irish Pud-themed bar downtown last night, and the first set I noticed were these two girls sitting at the bar talking. They were clearly there after work, etc. and were talking w/ each other non-stop.

One was pretty hot, the other not so much. They were sitting the way some girls do when they've come together to have drinks and just talk to each other, one was turned towards the other, practically in her lap. If I were to have tried to say something to them, I wouldn't have been able to get in a word edgewise, the way their talking non stop like that.

I really wanted to talk to that one girl, but couldn't think of anything to say if I approached. Eventually, they got ready to leave, one hugged the other and they headed out.

How do you approach a situation like this? Is this one of those types of sets where you just can't really do anything about it? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Actually, this is one of those situations where you just step up to them and say something interesting. Be confident about yourself. If you are truly feeling confident, the girls will pick up on it and respond, unless they are just not interested AT ALL in guys that night.

That's just approach anxiety that you experienced. And you overcome that with practice. The more practice you get in in the shortest period of time will get you over it the fastest. Think of different things you can say just to open up a convo with someone. Anyone. Have several things ready, and start practicing.

Nice thing about this set was that they were at the bar. It would not have been un-natural for you to go up, grab a drink, and open them.

What i would do is go up on the side with the less attractive chick and kind of edged in with my shoulder so my back was faceing her, then opened over my shoulder.

Open, get barteanders attention, order a drink. Keep talking over your shoulder (having already set a time constraint), when you see them lean in, or face you, finish that line/routine. Then say you gotta go, spin the opposite direction take a step then re-open them, or start another DHV routine.

It will probably not be possible to seperate the target and obsticle, so once youve gotten friendly with the obsticle then focus on the target (remeber to keep them both intrested, a lock in prop may help). At some point just tell em you gotta get going, and tell your target you should continue the convo at a later point. Then number close.

Hope this helps, and i agree with LA its AA. I had a similar set, walked up, edged in...froze, got my drink and walked away with my tail between my legs about a month ago. Spent the rest of the night kicking myself in the ass.

Ummm, could you demonstrate just how you did that kicking yourself in the ass thing?

I look into a head-2-toe mirror and back kick my reflection. Best part is i can still sit down no matter how much kicking is warrented by my f-ups.
