I was wondering what exactly is NLP? I know it stands for neuro linguistic programming, but I don't know how to use it. I've googled it and all I find are scientific articles or the wikipedia article just telling me how it was created. What are some good books or sites you guys have come across and what are some basic examples of it?

In a nutshell, it's anchoring someone else's emotions to your actions. So, you can perform a certain subtle action in order to trigger a certain emotion in someone else. Like I said, in a nutshell. There's obviously a lot more to it than that. But that's the main part that Ross Jeffries made "famous".

NLP is a type of hypnotic seduction, it hijacks the subconcious by planting ideas in the targets head, basically whatever you can get someone to imagine is percieved as thier own thought, Ross Jeffries is souly NLP he was a pioneer of this in the 80s, check out his stuff its really good.

examples of this would be

its funny how your mine works(sounds like mind, but your implanting mine)

or

concepts like that are just below me(blow me)

or

we should take this in a new direction(nude erection)

its much deeper than this and there are better examples than this but thats all off the top of my head, my own personal opinion is to use this stuff sparingly cause you can appear like charles manson if you keep talking like this. its a great tool to use but its not the only method out there.

Basically the simplest definition of NLP is that it communicates things on a subconscious level. So any word that triggers subconscious responses works on an NLP level. Any phrase that does the same. A pattern that causes a person to feel a certain way. They're all forms of NLP. You can identify NLP in almost anything someone says and its just a matter of learning how to use it to your advantage, instead of having it work against you.

This one made me laugh out loud, I never really associated new direction with "nude erection". Anyway, do you guys know where I could read up on something like this? I know LA Tripp said Ross Jeffries became famous with this, but I don't know if I like that guy from what I read in The Game. I guess if he's good then I"ll check his stuff out.

Richard Bandler, John Grinder, and Ross Jeffries. Look up anything you can from those guys.

And yes, while it's true that most people think Ross is a scumbag, which I agree with, the fact is he DOES he the NLP stuff very well.

Introducing NLP by Joseph O'Connor and John Seymour is considered to be the introduction to it. Its based on Ginder and Bandler's works and endorsed by them.
