ESFP...but don't really want to be

I just took the personality test and found out I was an ESFP. The descriptions describe me perfectly to the point where I became mildly scared. Although I do like being outgoing and always wanting to have fun, there are serious problems to being ESFP. I noticed that I often seem "annoying" without even realizing it as I always try to maintain conversation and kind of do my own thing. I often act crazy and energetic and get really excited quickly.

Another problem is that I cannot really maintain long distance relationships. This was big in the personality test description and is just as real in my life. I know I cannot really change who I am and can probably not change being ESFP, but how can I change certain aspects?

Should I think more before I speak or react? Try to stay more calm and in control? I was just kind of overwhelmed by this and have been wanting to slightly change my personality for a while now. Any tips or advice on how I can become more enjoyable to be around and portray/change some qualities about myself?

1. Feed Your Strengths! Encourage your natural expressive abilities and hands-on talents. Nourish your appreciation of the world. Give yourself opportunities to enjoy life to the full.

2. Face Your Weaknesses! Realize and accept that some traits are strengths and some are weaknesses.
