I started trying match.com. So far, I have messaged five girls from my town, but I did not get one single response... Only one girl actually checked out my profile. I have no idea what's wrong with my messages. I don't think I come over as too needy or creepy or something. Here's what I usually write. I'd really appreciate any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong...
Hey XYZ!
I really like your profile. You seem like a fun [and ambitious] person.
[Take some activities or something she has on her profile tell her I also like it and maybe add a few funny remarks]
[If the profile offers the opportunity I make a cocky funny remark on something she wrote]
Let's chat sometime.
Cheers,
My Name
PS: My email address is ABC

Those sites have a better female base. _________________ " You're born alone and you die alone and this world just drops a bunch of rules on top of you to make you forget those facts. But what about the format of my personal messages? Is that OK or should I change something? How do you usually message girls on dating sites?

Try and be a little bit creative and interesting. I'm not sure about the specifics of match.com but on dating sites girls are usually outnumbered significantly by guys and if they're even remotely good looking they're going to be receiving messages from a lot of guys.
Make sure you have an intriguing profile as well. Avoid writing out a grocery list of things you like/do.
5 girls is a really small sample size. Even if you send out 30 messages and have a great profile you'll probably only get a few responses. Keep at it.

I would say if you want to compliment them (which may be unnecessary, or make you seem too interested, or like EVERY other dude on there) don't compliment their profile compliment them and make it specific. honestly jsut sending a message shows your interest you dont need to really express any... you can usually tell what they are very interested in by how they write about it or the emphasis on such. its a great advantage to the online dating to be able to target specific aspects of their personality or interests w/o even knowing them. if you ask about their passion or w/e they are generally inclined to at least respond with a brief message and hopefully glance over your profile. but make it short and dont offer up your email right away they can jsut reply to the message right? offer a few negs or playful criticism if you can.
One of the most important things is a good profile like Kobe24fan said. just send a short message with a simple question on something they are obviously opinionated/passionate about and hopefully your profile will do the hooking for the most part. just include some humor, non-cocky/bragging DHV's (like a good job or skill), and seem somewhat mysterious if you can. oh and dont follow my example here and use proper punctuation and grammar i know a lot of girls immediately reject guys that dont. (honestly i reject girls that dont usually)
