Half way through the year I developed the fear and I could't even read out loud in the class let alone do a presantation. So if I get blown out and talk to lots of people will that almost cure the fear?

On a side note, have you heard of Toast Masters? It's a group that gets together and practices speeches with one another. They have little jobs (roll call, evaluation, etc.) that people do throughout the meeting that requires a lot of talking or very little, depending on one's comfort level. That's another good group that will help with fears of public speaking and can be a good tool for PUAs.
