Hey guys, I was at a party this weekend and I negged a girl about the shirt she was wearing, and she immediatly negged me back by saying that i " looked like a cowboy". But not in a playful flirtatious way, it was hostile. Like she should have said, " You look like a fucking cowboy...die". She then ignored my presence and talked to her friend. I think I caught a roll of the eyes too...I don't know. Anyway, the question is how do I handle a girl who straight out insults me? I would have gone with Mystery's "You don't get out much, do you?". But it didn't seem like it applied here, because I negged her first.

What exactly did you say? Could be you insulted her thinking you were negging, or you didn't pull it off in a joking manner.

She was wearing some t-shirt that had a bunch of different names for boobs on the back...like melons, tits, sweater puppets, ect. Anyway I just said something like, "What kind of shirt is that?". But it was in a joking manner.

My guess is you negged her wrong and/or used the wrong tone/body language in doing so. She took it as an insult, hence her comments and attitude towards you.
