If she has high self esteem she will laugh. If not she will get offended. Use judgement with this one. If they ask this they are fishing for a compliment, which they clearly don't deserve. The point is to make her laugh and then change the subject. You never want to give an honest response here.

I am in the ignore camp. She asks, and you say something else.

You could get her to do something more over the top for you to earn the rating.

"Get me a beer and we'll see how you rate."

If they're way hot I usually ask a nearby dude what they think, when they agree and say like 9 or 10 I say "you think...?" I'm not so sure and change the subject.

Or go the hitchhikers guide and say "42" and change the subject. But I still say ignoring is fine. Validation seekers are tiresome.
