Location: Dover, DE | | I can completely understand her feelings that you don't care. She messaged you during your break, and you didn't message her back. But if you do care, you should try. Maybe do something subtle, not a huge gesture. Send a text that just says "hi". and start talking just like that. do it sooner rather than later, because the sooner you do it, the more likely she is to believe that you care.
