Here are some pictures of myself. In my defense, I have to say that, being a writer and an engineer, if body temperature is fine and private parts are covered any clothing does. I know my look is lame. Maybe you can help me become more eye catching.

Maybe a more masculine look, like working farm/industry clothes, but elegant (not a blue overall). The Carhartt catalogue looks cool, but I can't find that brand here.

I am going back to the gym next week and will try to get a tan. By the way, what do you recommend? Tanning lotion or tanning beds?[/img]

Tanning beds, definitely. Just to get your foot in the door: Buy a hat or two! (Preferably with a sports team or something you like on it. Don't get two black hats, two brown hats, etc.) Wear them occasionally. Buy some darker, slimmer fit jeans. Get T-shirts with designs on them! something comfortable, yet that catches the eye in a non-arrogant way. Feel free to wear a necklace as you see fit. Best of luck to you

I always try to invest in quality clothing that wears well with time and looks good. I say, use current trends as guidelines and get things that you like. Based on your photos, I think you could appreciate and benefit from a couple staples, (some a bit pricey) that i always keep.
1 Dry or "raw" denim. Get a pair of jeans, from a company such as A.P.C. Naked and famous, or possibly nudie. These jeans come unwashed after the dying process, so they look compleatly plain when you get them. You do not wash these jeans, you wear them as often as you like, and put them in the freezer if they start to smell. Over time they mold to your body, and fade in areas were they crease or rub against things. The fade that develops is unique to your body and lifestyle. These fades are genuine, not like the fades of designer jeans such as DIESEL True Religion Abercrombie etc. There a bit pricy, usualy about 150 plus, but you can, and should wear them for years on end. The best thing is, they get better with time. Form meats function.

2 Invest in a good haircut. "it is the shirt you never take off"

3 good shoes, leather, leather sole. Be sure that the sole is stitched on, so that it can be replaced, a good pair of shoes can last a lifetime if taken care of properly, and they gain character with age. They are also define who and what you are in the eyes of many people.

4 Vneck Tshirs. They just look a little better, and their cheap.

5 A good watch, preferably something with an automatic movement. Swiss. A watch is at ounce a status symbol, and a reflection of your taste. And it can elevate even the most basic outfit to a much higher level.

6 if your in a cold climate night knit wool sweater. Cool climate, Tweed jacket, cord blazer?

Guidelines: stay away from branded clothing. Quality over quantity. FIT IS EVERYTHING. Wemon are masters at camouflaging their imperfections with cloth. Get on it. Vertical stripes, solid dark colors on top and bottom, and so on. These and other methods make you appear taller, leaner. Always good. Avoid cloaths that are too tight or too bagy, to tight, emphasizes imperfection, to baggy, swallows you up and your a formless blob of beta. Or a gangster.

Hope that helped, good luck!

Try to determine which colors are most flattering for you. Some sites on seasonal color analysis can be helpful. I don't think that green/beige color is working for you.

I bought a couple of good books on male fashion. It looks easier and cheaper than I first thought. I will start building/improving my basic wardrobe next month, after reading them.

I actually just couldn't figure out what color you were wearing. It's basically the same color shirt in every pick. Olive?

The pictures 1 and 4 are from the same BBQ. It is a gray jean shirt. In the second one it is a vintage blue. And the t-shirt is a worn out black t-shirt.

The first thing that jumps out at me is your clothes need to fit better. Everything in the pictures is at least a size or two too big for you.

Yes, that's a habit I developed when I was a regular street fighter. Using tight jeans is a no-no when you have to grapple or kick someone.

Take a look at Chuck Norris. He does the same thing. No kidding. In his biography it says he started doing it after ruining some jeans in a sparring session with Bruce Lee.

But I haven't had a street fight in more than four years, so I think it would be safe using jeans and shirts of my size.

Thanks.

Hey,
From what you've said you want, if you want a suggestion... we should build upon your pic 1 and 4.
Hair, go with the slick back look. It will give you that manly look you want, and you have thin hair, slick back will work (can't really tell if thats what you have on pic 1 and 4)

Clothes. You need better fitting clothes (not so tight that it makes you look like Jersey Shore douchebags). I don't mean any disrepect, but you gotta admit the clothes on pic 2, and 3 are not that flattering. The reason for them not being flattering is because they don't fit you properly and the fabric of the colors are not bright enough (that doesn't mean you need to go wear bright yellow or red; a good quality clothes will give you a brighter color even if its green or beige). You want to focus more on well fitted shirts (don't get t-shirts, those are for high schoolers; if you much, a solid color v-neck would suffice). Flip through GQ magazine or go to Askmen online magazine. They will give you much detail about how to work different shades of denim jeans or how to work the gingham shirts. And please, no sandals with jeans, I might just have to call the fashion police on you :P If you don't feel like wearing socks and too lazy to tie shoelaces, go to Aldo and pick out some loafers. They're like only $90, its slip-on, no socks required- convenient, cheap and fashionable.

You might want to get some leather jacket to go with your look too.

Let me know if you have any other questions! happy to help a fellow friend.

Ditto, what everyone else has said.

You need some style, bro. Get an edgy haircut, and study up on fashion. Seriously, if you want to attract lots of women you need to be high maintenance, but do not show you're high maintenance.

if women are attracted to the way you look, it makes gaming them that much easier. Some women are sprung on a handsome face, not all are. What attracts women is style, taking care of yourself, looking healthy, and clean. Look at Frank Sinatra or Hugh Heffner. Neither had brad putt's looks, but would make Pitt look afc when it comes to pickup. They have/had style and class. Women love that.

Being a man has advantages, too. We don't need to be gifted with nice tits. Any guy can workout and have an attractive body.

1 ) No open toe shoes or flip flops ever again. Unless you're at the beach. Even then, do NOT wear crocs or anything of the sort. Also, try not to wear sneakers that often. I'm serious here, find a nice pair of shoes.

2 ) Regarding how your clothes fit, try on clothes from your size all the way down to the smallest, once you find the one that doesn't fit you anymore, buy the next size up. And to elaborate on that, I'm talking about dress shirts and pants. For pants, get some slim-fit or at least ones that show definition without compromising movement. For your top, try to get some layers on there. Maybe an undershirt (plain white T-shirt will do), with a dress shirt over it, make sure the top THREE buttons are undone if you're wearing a dress shirt over the plain shirt(2-4, no more, no less), and I'd probably roll up your sleeves to the elbow (not pushed up, but folded back until it reaches your elbow).

3 ) Do you have contacts? If so, wear them, all the time (while you're out of your house at least). If not, get them.

4 ) Add some more accessories to your daily attire. Necklace (or two), a ring (or several), etc. I saw you had a watch, that's a start.

5 ) Let your hair grow a little longer. It seems from your pictures that you like to keep it short. That's fine, but let it grow another 1/4 - 1/2 an inch, that way you can add some texture to it (which also helps your appeal).

6 ) I noticed some talk of clothes color in this thread. I wasn't really going to point it out, but I think I might need to after seeing your pictures again. Do not wear one of those crazy-designed collared shirts. And please for the love of god, do not wear affliction clothing thinking you're cool. Find some really nice, really cheap slim-fit or regular fit plain-colored dress shirts (get them in colors that will have people notice you, bright red, purple, etc). Also, do not tuck your shirt in, please. Oh, and that reminds me, new belt.

7 ) You will not look good in a V-neck, sorry.

8 ) The biggest problem I see though is both your posture and your body language. You don't seem to be someone that exudes confidence.
