I was set up with this girl through mutual friends who introduced us over email. Before we met she called me several times just to chat and conversations went great. We hadn't seen each other though but our friends told us both that we wouldn't be disappointed with the other's looks. We finally met up last Monday and she was very awkward, my guess is it was an attraction issue. Mind you this girl is cute but she's no model. People who know us both have said they're surprised it would be an attraction issue because I've dated girls hotter than her but they don't think the guys she's dated were better looking than me.

Anyway, called her about a week later and left a voicemail. That was on Sunday, I haven't heard back from her since (it's now Wed morning).

I'm wondering if I should try calling her again one last time. I've read some people say you should only call once more (after 3-4 days) but leave no voicemail if she doesn't answer. Is this the best advice?

My gut tells me this girl, who seemed to like me a lot on the phone, just built up some image of me which was false. I know I've been in that situation when I've talked to someone a lot before seeing them. Would just giving her time help her "adjust". If I call her and she answers should I just behave like there's nothing awkward and ask her out?

Hey WSN! How's it going?

Luckily for you, I did all the hard work for you yesterday when I was reading Braddocks book on text/phone game. Basically if she flakes once it's okay to ask again but never go beyond 2. If she flakes on the second time it's game over.

Also don't make your date/call too much of a formal issue, get a joke in there and don't invite her out in a direct way you want to ask her out in a more subtile way.
" If we don't see each other this week we're so getting divorced, You keep the children I get the dog "
" We should ... "
" Hi. I found this number on the bathroom at [nearest station]. It said call [her name] for a good time. My name is [your name] and I am up for a good time so if you could call me on [your number] maybe we can meet up.”
" There's this really cool place I'm heading to ...... If you behave i'll let you join me/us"

Good luck champ

Thanks, that is some really helpful advice. If I still don't hear back from her when do you think I should try and call her again? I left her a message 3 days ago.

Yes you should absolutely try again. Girls have this moral code to not initiate contact as it comes off as needy. It's kind of like an unwritten rule. You will have to initiate again but don't bother going beyond 2 times asking her out.
