My quick advice would be to envision where you want to be and realistically how long it will take you to get there. Start forming your life now so that it will end up that way.
Think about it like this - let's say I'm broke with no car. I know I want a car and have a job that is nearby. Instead of going into debt to buy a car I barter services (painting houses, construction, fix computers, whatever I can do) for a bicycle that makes it quicker to get to/from work and hooks up my cardio every day. I save $300 per month (average car payment) for 3 years while biking to/from work and not only is my body transformed but in 3 years I have $10,800 to buy a car with and have no car payment.
Now I have a car and spend maybe $50 in gas a month so I'm saving $250 a month that I have to party with - oh yeah, did I mention I have a car now.
The point is, it's not an overnight process so plan ahead to reach a goal and define that goal realistically. Throwing game doesn't have to cost much but it does take planning and preparation so hook up a friend with a nice crib, a couple nice outfits, and a ride (unless you're somewhere you can pull of a taxi). Read all of the forums and take the newbie challenge to gain some confidence then go for it, I'm sure you'll do well in the end.
