Would you guys say if a chick thinks you're cute, walking past you or whatever..she'd smile your way or on the train? Or females don't make moves like that until you approach them first?

They can definitely do that. But don't look for it in order to approach a woman, because then you won't approach many. It's not an all the time occurrence, because they're constantly distracted by the romance novel they're reading, their phone, their friends, etc.

What I've personally noticed, is that a girl (especially when by herself) will always be looking around. If she looks at you, and you catch each other's eyes for a second, smile at her, maybe even wink. If she smiles back, definite IOI.

So to answer your question, I think it all depends on the woman.

That sounds like a shit test would come afterwards, most guys when approached by a girl that calls them cute say something like " uhm thank you" in a very awkward way, and it'd be a sort of shit test.. what you want to do is follow up on some quick game if a girl ever randomly comes up to you and says you're cute. Something like " Oh thank you , you are the millionth person that's told me that" ( cocky funny) She'd laugh, that's when you say "Thank you for the compliment, you are also very cute" and then just go from there
