| I can help by assuming that when you talk parties, you're talking about the standard college kegger. I mean you walk up to a total stranger at a house you are not familiar with, pay them some cash, walk in, and drink.
These are great ways for a guy to learn how to network, and that's the best thing you can do to start. Introduce yourself to the guys working the party. It's the dudes (its never women, not for more than 10 minutes) who are checking ids, collecting money, handing out cups, providing shots, and working at the keg. Now they are trying to keep things going smoothly, so you dont need to tell a life story, but introduce yourself, get their name, and say thanks. If you walk by them later on at the party, say hey and tell them the place is poppin (in whatever words you would normally use haha). At the very least, if you get involved in a little drama guys at the house will take your side over a stranger. At best, you get an in with the home crew, and that's one of the biggest advantages a party crasher can have.
It sounds simple, but bringing your own booze is a huge edge. Sometimes you can avoid paying by showing your own bottle/flask/12 pack/whatever. But once word gets out, and it will, that you brought something better than Natty you will become the center of attention. This is so eashy since everything is better than the cheap beer your average college student uses for a keg.
A trademark helps. If you go to parties in the same area you may run into similar people all the time. It can be a signature crazy beerpong shot, a unique shirt or jacket you frequently wear, or that one song that has you dance like your a member of the damn Jabawockeez. Regardless, if you are memorable in a very simple way, the next party will be easier for you because more people will recognize you and treat you less like a stranger and more like an old friend.
back when I partied a lot, i always showed up to parties a few minutes before they officially started and chatted with the doormen. once the crowd showed I would enter, but in 3-5 sober minutes I gained an edge over everybody else.
Now the best thing I can tell you is so simple it is inspiring. Watch Wedding Crashers and emulate that attitude. Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were able to crash weddings and get laid because they became the life of the party. Their characters were so outgoing, and just made small talk with everybody, cracked a few jokes, and acted like they were the guests of honor. When you act that comfortably, just like in that movie, nobody will question whether you are that level of badass. If you act like you are the main event, and combine that with being fairly polite to the people who actually work the party, you
