This is my profile. It's the first dating site I've ever been on so I don't know if it's good or not. I just moved to a new city and I'm living with my parents for the summer though, so having an OKCupid profile seemed like a good idea.


I browsed around for a bit looking for an OK girl to message on so I could get used to the dynamics of the site without wasting messages and confidence on attractive "Replies selectively/very selectively" chicks. I eventually found one who was OK looking but "hadn't been contacted in a week!". Her profile was long and I couldn't find anything to build a message around, so I just sent this message:

"You sound like a pretty nice girl in your profile, it comes off as a little boring though. On a scale of 1 to 10, how boring would you say you are? This is important! I don't like boring people =P"

Five minutes later got this reply:

"Haha lets put it this way.... my profile is probably just as boring as yours is clinically insane. Do you really think that people are going to take you seriously? I'm sure this is exactly the kind of response that you were looking for so I decided to hand it over nicely. Please do not waste my time."

Which of us has something seriously wrong with them? Am I doing it wrong?

First off with these sites even ugly chicks have a sense of intitlement(my spelling sucks).

Anyways, their are chicks with attitude forget em they are online cause they got issues just like all the chicks there.

My advice though is to find something you can copy and paste and just send 100 chicks it even if you only get 10 girls you spent no time on it.

Something like the mirror opener is great just find every girl with a picture in the mirror and send them it. Even the ugly/fat chicks just to get an idea of how to flow a conversation online.

Get a picture of yourself smiling. You look like an axe murderer in your picture.

Everything else about your profile is fine. You might want to include a little more tangible information about yourself though. I think we all get a little carried away with the jokes and tend to forget to include actual info.

oh dear god your photo is horrible. You look like a fkn creepshow. Get a new picture. Get 5 new pictures. Lose that one. Close up self portrait of your face not smiling? If I were a girl I'd think you were going to cut me up and put me in your freezer.

Get some photos of yourself outside or doing fun things or being normal. No girl is going to message you when you post a photo like that... you can do better.

You need a more creative opener for the future, but the opener doesn't have to be about anything in her profile. Your opener could be something about one of her pictures. Also her message looks like a sh*t test, but I would change you're picture to a happier one before messaging her again.

That's got to be one of the worst openers I've ever read.

Unless you are Barack Obama himself, you had no right to use that opener.
