OK, So I'm new to online dating and after reading some openers here (particularly the mirror one!!) i'm having a seriously fun time! It's really good for testing out what girls respond to what.

Anyway, I've got some good rapport going from using the mirror opener and I want to take it away from the site and get a number close or even meet for a 'date' (haha, it still seems so strange to me, this whole online dating thing)

So how do I close? In terms of number closing, i tried this;

"OK, so how can we stay in contact outside of this damn website?! Let's take it into our own hands!"

To which I got an email address, not number.

How can I keep the frame, stay on top and have her agree to meet up without me actually 'asking' as such.

There's a few others I'm talking to (good rapport, what's you fave super power, negging, her qualifying herself etc). I don't want to be the 'um, let's meet up' kind of guy as that can set you up for rejection. As the situations are now, I've invested no emotional attachment or neediness to any of the conversations. I should add that most convos are about 5 messages long. Should I string them out a little, or go straight in.

I found closing with date is much easier than number, those girls seem to be reluctant to give their number out on the internet. What I usually do is say this after building some rapport and attraction.
"You're fun. I'll be at xxxx on xxxx. You should drop by and grab a quick coffee with me"
It is spontaneous invitation without making it a date or sound desperate. You will be there regardless she will show up or not, that takes a lot of pressure off. If she's interested, she will provide you number to contact her eventually. Or she can just show up at the place, and you game her there then number close.

Tao speaks true. Numbers are to set dates. If you are already talking, you can set dates and you don't need the number right away. You'll probably get it anyway.

For example (this is something that I did) we talked about stuff we didn't do in a long time, and I brought up iceskating, which I only got to do once back in high school with my class. She wanted to try it, so we set up a date there, but I got her number "just in case you get lost ;P" or some shit. If you don't fuck it up badly, you'll get her number anyway, so no worries.
