Can anyone provide some tips and examples of # closes that have worked in field?

They seem to be a sticking point for me because my goal is to complete the entire cycle with my target...not just get her number and be out. So when a situation arises in which the #close is the only option, I seem to deliver them with less swagger than necessary. The one example that sticks out is a girl I had a great interaction with the other night (F*CKING TEXTBOOK!)...but then when I went for the # close (which I thought wasn't too bad), she told me she has a "jealous italian BF" so she cant give me her number, but to facebook her...so she wrote her name as a text in my phone (she's lebonese and had a difficultly spelled name), gave me a peck on the lips and a very welcoming hug...and then has not responded to me via facebook.

Anyhoo, I just feel like a the # close is a part of my game I never put a lot of effort into and a few tips/successful field reports would be of great service.

Well with the chick who has a jealous boyfriend, you could've asked "Do you let him make all your decisions for you, or just who gets your number?" That's worked well for me in the past.
Usually with number closes, the best way is to get her laughing, get really into the conversation and build up some attraction, then just say "Hey, I gotta go, I can't be late to _____. Punch in your number and I'll text you later tonight/this week." and then after she punches it in, bail.

I just get my phone out of my pocket, look at her and wait. When she looks confused I just say "your number.."

I simply expect her to give it to me. Like it was the only normal thing to do.
