Im still very unsure about the whole DHV story thing I find it odd to ask an opener then go into some full on story . (unrelated in many cases)
So I have kind of combined a DHV story that works well with my opener
all feedback welcome
cant wait to here from you
Opener
Me: Hey can I get your opinion on something
Hb:Yea sure
Me: My friend says girls like guys who play the drums more the guitar is this true ??/what do you prefer etc
Hb:no I like guys who play guitar
DHV
Me: I tried saying that ……I went to a family wedding a couple of weeks ago and I took my guitar because my uncle plays guitar as well and we were planning on jamming ….anyway during the reception I saw a table of kids …they looked so bored and fed up , so i went over with my guitar and asked them if they wanted me to play them some songs anyways one thing ld to another and I ended up staying with them and playing guitar for about 3 hours …..there little faces were so adorable , One kid even said he was going to start learning guitar because of me ……a little tear came to my eye. ……me and my uncle never did get to jam ….but I didn't care .
If she says yes about liking drummers more
Me: well to be honest my friends a little slow , so I by agreeing with him I guess your a little …….(pull face , lift eyebrows etc)
Me :But that reminds me
DHV about drummer
I was at a friends bands gig with my ex girl friend and there was a supporting band the whole band were no older than 16 but the drummer was like forty ….anyway they played the gig and rocked ….the drummer then came to the bar I started chatting with him it turns out ……The guitarist is his kid ….I just shake his hand and say …..I hope I"m as good a dad as you If/when I have kids . _________________ Breathe in the air, don't be afraid to care-Pink Floyd

Be prepared for this contingency. The opener should look like you were thinking about something that popped into your head JUST at the moment your target was around, so you asked her. Should there be a Hobo instead of her, you'd ask him. (that's how it should look like anyway)
Not sure about the DHV story. I would definitely change it that the Children saw you and came begging to play for them. Instead of you forcing yourself on them..
The DHV story should have the following (not all!) aspects:
- You are leader of your group
- Women like you and want you
- You are emotionally healthy person
- You are protector of weak or ppl who are in your social circle
- You can take risks if necessary
- You are a social person - "life of the party"
The story also shouldn't come off as if you are bragging about yourself. Yours unfortunatelly does.
My DHV's are usually such that something embarrassing but funny happens to me. Then it doesn't come off as bragging. You could put an element such as that into yours. Like i.e. "I was playing to these kids, and all of a sudden the chair I was sitting on broke its leg and I fell flat on the ground! Everybody laughing at me. Including myself. Then I slowly stood up and took a bow, still laughing."
Also do not change or switch your story just because she prefers drummers! Never! It's excellent time to tease her about bad taste! Like "You don't know what's good *wink*" don't wait for answer and launch your DVH immediately! _________________ Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

I agree with Blind Watchmaker. The DHV story needs to have a bit more spunk in it. Playing musician for kids seems to be a bit like u are a performer and then she could trap you into playing for her and bang you into the friend zone and call on you when she wants somebody to sing to u. Im a guitarist too and believe me Ive been caught in that hoop before.
Also I would suggest that you find a bunch of openers. I have around 40 openers that I use and then around 10 - 15 big DHV routines and then probably another 40 comfort building routines. go through the forum and write down these openers and routines and practice them in your head and out in public. that way you will never run out of material. _________________ I am what I am today, but tomorrow Ill be something different!

Then come back here and let everyone know how it worked out for you.
