| So... my first ever day sarge, and here's my report of how it went. If you're expecting anything spectacular, look away now. But if you're expecting to see a smidgin of progress, continue to read.
I went down to West Quay Shopping Centre in Southampton today, I left my house about 2:30 but didn't actually get there until roughly 3:30 cos I got bloody lost! I'm not from around here, so I found it really hard to find. Anyway, after parking and managing to find the shopping centre I took a walk around looking for potential targets, and unfortunately as is usually the case all the hot girls were with hot guys... whether it be shops, cafes or whatever.
I was pretty much just walking around shops looking for targets, and tried a Waterstones as I figure book shops are a pretty good place to pick up intelligent girls as well as good lookers, but it was completely dead in the book store target-wise, so I gave up on that idea.
I continued walking around the shopping centre for a good 30 minutes before making my first... and only approach. I was really pleased about what I had discovered, a HB7 on her own sorting through her back as she exited John Lewis, so I approached her with the following (making sure I was on a different floor to the book store) "Hey, do you know any good book stores around here?" Because she was originally looking into her bags, she had to look up to respond to me. As she looked up and began to talk, she had a gorgeous full teethed smile as she spoke, which I figured must be an IOI... or linked to what I was about to discover next. As we spoke, her friend approached who was actually with her, but was too far away for me to actually notice they were together, so the huge smile was possibly because of embarrassment. I told her I'd already been to Waterstones and wasn't from around here, and asked if she knew anymore. When it transpired there were no others, I asked about stores for men's accessories as I had just tried accessorise but they only sell things for women. She suggested TopMan and explained to me how to find it. As her friend joined, I engaged her in the conversation too and she also smiled with teeth. After they told me where TopMan was, I didn't feel confident enough to go any further as this was now a two-set.
I only approached the girl because she was alone and I feel MUCH more comfortable approaching girls who are on their own, as there is no embarrassment or uneasy feeling about their friend standing next to them while you try to hit on them. As the second girl joined, I knew that I couldn't take this anyway and thanked her for helping me, and ejected. She was really pretty, and it's a shame because I feel I would've got a number close.
After this, I walked around feeling a bit more confident and with a mild smile on my face, however I couldn't find any other lone targets and as this is a Sunday, most stores close at 4pm so I pretty much ran out of time. I continued on for another 30 mins but couldn't find anyone else alone to approach, so I called it a day and came home... and now, here I am on PUA forum telling you how my day went.
I understand that if I could open two-sets it would open up so many more opportunities for me, but at the moment I just don't feel confident enough to do it. Whenever I did find a lone girl, she was walking past me and I made up an excuse in my head why not to talk to her, even if it was just to say hi. Most of the time I felt it wasn't an excuse and was a genuine observation, like the fact they weren't making eye contact or looking in my direction, or that they weren't my type.
Feedback on this would be great guys, and if any experienced PUA's are in the Southampton/Winchester area let me know and maybe you can show me some day game.
