Hey guys, I'm new to this as of only discovering the world of PUA about a week ago and having a read into it. Last night I was just bored really and felt like testing out whether I was actually good enough to go out sarging, so I got a buddy of mine to come out with me and see what we could achieve.

I know that the first few times are always the hardest, but even with that in mind this was a tremendous failure and looking back on it, can't even believe it happened (or didn't, depending on how you want to look at it).

My approach anxiety was off the scales, and as a result I achieved pretty much nothing the whole night. I'm not what you'd call a pretty boy, so trying to give any girl eye contact was impossible as they would meet eyes and then dart away. This was in a club rather than a bar, so it was kinda hard to approach people while they were dancing without looking creepy anyway...

At the start of the night, I tried to build my confidence by practicing talking to the girl who stands beside the dancefloor selling shots. I figured if I could maybe get her to laugh or something... or even just strike up a conversation, that it might give me some confidence, so I went for it. I asked how much they were, and what flavours each of them were. She told me they were £2 each, and told me what they were and which one she'd recommend. So I told her that was a bit expensive and that surely that isn't worth it... and asked for some money off. I figured it might count as compliance if she gave me money off, and she actually dropped the price to a £1 and said (don't tell anyone I did this or I'll get in trouble). Afterward, I didn't wanna drop the shot tube on the floor even though she said I should, so I said I'm a good boy and gave it to her. The response was "why does everyone say that!?" and she chucked it on the floor herself. Admittedly it would've been a good opportunity to say "oh, so you're a bad girl" or something like that... but I could tell she completely wasn't interested. You know the kind of bitchy girl who kind of rolls her eyes away whenever you try to talk to her, and to be fair she was only really talking to me as part of her job. You can tell by the way a girl sort of doesn't really care whether you exist or not kind of look, that she just really doesn't want to talk to you any longer than she has to. This girl was easily a 9, and because of her job probably gets properly hot guys hitting on her all the time so I'd imagine is fed up of it, so I'd say this was probably more like trying to pull a hired gun.

After my somewhat disgraceful performance with the shot girl, who despite giving me £1 off didn't actually show any interest whatsoever, and had that permanent look of disgust on her face that I even had the gall to try and make conversation with her, I went around the club a few times with my buddy and ran into some girls I knew who were completely smashed off their faces. Being a complete AFC, I'm not really aware what to do with this situation or if there's any way I can use them to my advantage, so we had some conversation and I said I might see them later. After a few rotations round the club, and realising that literally every set of girls had hot guys in it, consistently making their girls laugh etc... I realised there was literally no girls who were alone, even in a 2 set... to try and make an approach to, therefore I pretty much gave up and exited the club feeling a moron.

I've never really looked into dancefloor game, but one thing I will say to cover myself (or attempt to) is that this club is usually packed like a sardine tin, however tonight pretty much the capacity was only about 50% full for some strange reason... a good PUA could've worked that club bone dry I guess, and that's why I'm not one.

Any feedback or advice would be great, thanks guys.

Ha, I know exactly how you feel mate regarding the night club game. I really really hate it, purely because when you look around there are SO many guys (mainly twats) around girls like flies.

I've got a few barmaid's numbers in the past from trying it on with them, but you definitely have to stand out from the crowd.. the amount of irritating drunk guys hitting on them is going to be ridiculous. Admittedly when i'm steaming i've gone upto the bar before and said "Hi, can I have a double vodka and lemonade and your BBM pin please", things like that can be quite cringeworthy!

If you're new (I'm not too experienced myself) I definitely wouldn't start off in clubs. Shopping centres etc are much easier to talk to people, and girls expect it less I think, and are therefore impressed more.

I've always said things are sliiiightly different for us in England, etiquette wise etc..

Yea... trouble is in England there isn't really that many bars and that kinda thing, it's usually either clubs or nothing. All the guys looked EXACTLY the same. Lyle & Scott or something similar polo shirt, short back and sides haircut spiked up with gel at the top, and a pencil thin beard to highlight the jawline, with a stupid tan. They were all just your typical prick kind of guy, who when dancing even knowing when they bash into you don't try and make an effort to stop, and keep on doing it cos they know you won't stop them. Oh girls, you really go for the high flyers :/

Haha I actually quite liked your line! Trouble is I was *completely* sober when I went on this sarge, I figured if you don't have confidence when you're sober then you'll never be good at the game until you do!

Yea shopping centres and such may be easier, but the trouble is day game is scarier cos there's no music or anything to distract them from thinking you're a creep who just rolled up from nowhere. I guess I could try some day game and report back another horrifying tale of a failed sarge, won't be until the end of the month though as I'm busy with work!

And definitely on the last bit... whenever I watched the PUA TV show it always gave me so much confidence that I could do that, but America is just so different to the UK. The girls attitudes are different, and it's just an entirely different social dynamic when it comes to approaching and opening sets. I think if there was a similar kind of show based in the UK things would be done a lot differently.

I definitely need someone to take me under their wing and give me some help, cos doing this alone I can tell it's just not going to happen! I can do either Southampton or Milton Keynes/Northampton

Aha yeah, I know the type.. it's All Saints, Lyle & Scott and Henleys that I always see! Noone has any originality honestly.. and I know exactly where you're coming from regarding the pushing, it happens all the time!

I wish we had more bars as opposed to clubs, I like to be able to just have a social drink and chat to random people. I also hate really rammed clubs, cause not also can't you talk, but you always get covered in sweat and drink!

I noticed in America, in shops, people always greet you by saying "hey, how are ya!?" or something similar, and they even say bye when you leave.. in England I find this is rarely the case, and I think this shows the difference in culture when it comes to daygame.

I'm in Notts/Leics myself, I was dating a girl from Northants a month or so ago.. judging by the town centre.. rather you than me mate! :P

I hate these fuckers so much, but when we are on the role, they'll mean nothing to us. I've observed once in the club and most of the time they are only riding/ grinding up against girls or being macho/ alpha around the bar.

We have to overcome those bastards, with charisma, wit, charm and being two steps ahead of them... Man there's a lot I have to work on. But I think it's true girls who are with them are bored deep inside...

Keep up bro

Cure your approach anxiety with a canned opener. Preferably one that can be used on a mixed set. This way you can engage a group without the guys feeling threatened. You may then find out that the guys in the group aren't with any of the chicks. They're just there hanging out. Only way to overcome it is to just do it.

Stay away from the hired guns until you're comfortable approaching people there to have fun. It'll just bring your mood down when you get rejected.

I did observe each potential set to see if the guys were with the girls... and 100% of the time, they were! It was like there was literally nobody to approach :/

For a first time sarger, approaching sets with males (alpha males to be precise which makes it even harder) is almost impossible, especially in a club where the music is so loud you have no choice but to lean in every time you need to say something.

It's true that these guys offer absolutely nothing apart from looks as most of them seem braindead, and I know that most of us here if we could turn personality into looks would score a 10 easily.

I never really expected anything to happen with the hired gun, I just spoke to her mostly as a confidence booster but it didn't really work... and if anything did the opposite, bringing me back down to reality after realising that talking to a 9 and receiving all those horrid looks and IOD's was just a waste of time!

I understand canned openers are a great way to open a set, but the club was so loud and people were laid out in such a way that making an approach was gonna be difficult... far beyond the achievement capability of an AFC (for now).

And Daddy 005 to answer your question; nah I wasn't in Birmingham, I was in Milton Keynes, but how come you ask? I have some friends who go to Birmingham University so I'll be up there probably around July-ish

I'm still looking for someone to practice daygame with tomorrow (Sunday) in Southampton/Winchester area as I've got a day off work and need to be creative!
