I am aware of the effects this has on ones confidence and self-esteem but it's hard to avoid playing them all day when you're in a town with nothing else to do, and of course with low self-esteem people find it hard to take interest to you. This mightent even be the right place to post this but I was a very high-esteemed and intellegent kid that always had a deep passion for video games but that turned into an addiction and average grades in school along with a number of other problems. I dont get nervous around people but I find it really tough to start an interesting conversation, too many times I fall silent even when im with those I trust the most. I know spending more time outdoors and away from the computer would be a start to confidence building, but how do I make a conversation interesting, with ANYONE I speak to, not just women, i'll work on it with easy to speak to people until im ready to use it as a way to try to seduce women

Start working out 2.5 hours a day 6 days a week. If you can't do this right away work up to it.

Start doing something 2.5 hours a day to better yourself, like studying something you want to study.

Start going out and talking to girls 2 hours a day.

Now you have no time to play video games.

Spandrel's right. Start working out. Buy a set of weights and start using them. The satisfaction from seeing your biceps literally grow, the definition in your shoulders and the emergence of abs is truly amazing.

I don't know what you play your video games on, I'm big on VG's myself, but I'm not one of these folks who obsess over them. The key is a healthy balance. If you've got an Xbox or a PS3, take your games and put them under your bed, in your wardrobe wherever. Then take the power cables and put them somewhere else. If you're a PC gamer unistall the games, keeping backups of the local files or if you're on STEAM change your goddamn password to something random and not easily memorable, write it down. Trust me, when you're truly addicted to something that first clean day is brilliant.

If you're still at school focus your time on studies. Master something to university level if you can. If not, find something you want to learn and dedicate yourself to it.

Got a camera? Get outside, take some photo's and edit them. 'Bitches' love a guy who's good with a camera. ;)

Best of luck bro. I know that if you truly believe you can kick something you can. I've watched people who've used Smack for the time I've been alive (~20 years) kick it.

As a side note: Part of a strong inner game is believing that with self determination anything is possible. Let this be fuel to your personal fire.

Why not just make pick-up the new game you play? You get an unlimited amount of tries and lives to start over, don't see why you couldn't try it that way.

There's never "nothing to do". As suggested by others, working out is good. You'll feel even better afterward when the happy chemicals in your brain are released during exercise
