| At the moment I am working in a remote town about 400km's away from my home town. It is a big mining place with lots of rough looking guys which are pretty seedy.
The local pubs put skimpy bartenders on, Thursday and Friday nights usually. If you don't know what a skimpy is, it is pretty much a good looking bartender that serves you in underwear. They go to a town for a weekend and work, then go to another the next weekend.
Last night I was at the pub getting some dinner and there was this gorgeous skimpy, she was 19 (same age as me) and recently got out of a 4 year relationship.
I was sitting at the bar, she is paid to entertain so she goes around talking to people, she started to have a little chat I gave her a bit of a short answer, acted disinterested and kept watching the news on tv.
Later on in the night a few guys were annoying her so she was hanging out on my side of the bar a bit more, a bloke I was speaking to asked her a question and I joined in with the conversation, kind of took over and asked "do you get pissed off when all these dodgy guys hit on you?". I threw her a few negs eg: she had to bend over and pick up a bottle cap and apologised for waving her ass in my face, I said "oh I didnt notice, wasn't looking" (along those lines anyway).
Every single guy there was asking her where she was from, why she was a skimpy, how old she was etc so I kind of threw in some different questions, in between her serving people, told her a story about how I got a speeding fine in the work ute etc.
As the night progressed she kept returning to my side of the bar, leaning on the counter (not once did I look down her shirt), unintentionally I was speaking over my shoulder (I hear that is a good thing to do). My colleague who was next to me helped generate the conversation a bit, we did the whole "who lies more guys or girls" question, she wasn't hugely receptive but it was a different question to what she was getting all night.
Later that night he asked for her number, said: "not for me, for the guy right next to me." She didnt pass it on and when the pub had died down a bit she kept coming and talking to me. I asked her things like, "what do you do during the day in these little country towns etc" She blabbed on about her housemates and stealing kittens etc so I got her to ramble on. I should have done the whole "shhh for a second and let me speak" thing but I didnt.
I wanted some water but I had to go to the fridge to get it (was outside the bar area), I threw in a few negs and I felt her hand touch mine as I left the bar to get it. She accidentally touched me a few times on the hand that night. I just didnt react.
As last drinks were called I went and had a beer with my mate while she was cleaning up, threw her a smile. When I left I wrote my number down on a bar that had already been closed, told the other bartender (a friend) that it was for her and left without saying goodbye. I like the whole leave her with my number thing, because everyone asks girls for numbers but I dont think it is common for guys to leave theirs.
Havent heard from her but she is working tonight and I have to go get my dinner (we get it for free there). So I'll run into her in about half an hour.
My plan for tonight is like last nights, go in, order, watch the news for a bit. I'll act like it didn't phase me at all that she hasn't called, there was a joke going around that my colleague was the send 10 texts to a girl and get 1 reply kind of guy. So I might say something like, oh well now you're the send 10 texts to a guy and get 1 reply type.
Hope it goes alright, dont think she is the type who is going to go all out tonight but I reckon I would be able to catch up with her when I am back in Perth.
I'll keep you posted.
Cheers
Jay
