I watched a recent episode of VH1's Undateable.

It's a commentary-like show based on men & women who are undateable for certain reasons(hygenic,etc.).

What really pissed me off was a segment about men not paying for dates are deemed undateable or a NO-NO.

Im not stingy,but there's no way in the world we men should always be expected to pay for dinner,movie,etc on dates.

On the show,Bret Michaels was saying that going Dutch(both parties chip in on the bill),is a NO-NO!!

Really bro'!!?

So the guy should always pay!!!?

And if he doesnt,he isnt worthy of dating!!?

WTF is wrong with both parties coughing up half!!?

Anyway,I dont go on traditional dates so it's no problem for me.

But I dont think men should be forced(by society)to pay all the time.

A girl who expects a guy to pay everytime = undateable. As far as i remember, women have been bitching and moaning about equality so they should pay their share.

My GF and I alternate. I buy dinner one night, she buys it the next time we're out. That way theres no resentment, although we usually both fight to pay. Reminds me of the joke "How do you know you're chinese? When there's a punch up over who gets to pay the dinner bill".

But you made a good point with the whole womens'-equality movement;except when it comes to paying on dates.

No fucking wonder Bret Michaels can say that shit...he can buy rotations of top end hookers to suck his dick every day till the day he dies. Money is no object with him...why is his opinion worth a second of our time?

I do think it's a shame that way of thinking is so mainstream and I pray to god for our next generation of men those poor bastards. Im still a pretty conservative guy to the girl im really interested in. I'll pay for alot of the small things but I let her pick up the tab too and generally (decent) women are fine with it. Either way it makes no difference to me. If you're a half decent girl that has any real sense of etiquette, your relationship worthy.

Fuck society (omgalphaomega!) if you dont want to pay all the time the dont. What's she gonna do? Leave you?

As you said,paying could go either way.

It just should'nt be obligatory for men to picc up the tab all the time.

But if Im really into the date,my pockets are loaded with cash or cards-then so be it-I'll pay.

But if Im in a shitty mood,not givin a crap mood,she'll have to release the funds for her portion.

Just don't pay all the time. If you are feeling guilty or somethin, play the same game alot of girls play when they go out...see how many free drinks they can get...if u can get a bunch of girls to get u drinks n be cool with it, it shouldn't be too difficult to have a girl pay her own way.

This is a bit of a tricky one. I think the man should pay for the first date just as a matter of courtesy but after that don't feel obliged to pick up the tab. If you keep on paying, she'll treat you like a cash cow and you will not be respected. Getting a woman to pay shows that you are her equal and that you value yourself. If you ever meet a girl who doesn't have those values, walk away. Many pretty girls are used to attention and being waited on by fawning men. Don't be one of those guys.

Not really on dates but more like at clubs/bars.
