Hi guys, I recently went shopping and go with a style that is basically as follows.

Button up long collard shirts, using criss-cross lines
T-shirt with cool designs vibrant colors that match the lines of the long sleeve shirt, and wear it over the long sleave
Dark jeans, boot cut.

ocasionally i will wear a somewhat frayed pea coat/dress jacket type thing with one of my t-shirts and no button up shirt.

What im looking for is the following (all on the cheaper spectrum):
-Hat, like a fedora, grey with maybe some kinda band thats say a nice blue or yellow (i know it sounds gay, but think a hat like Justin Timberlake might wear)

-rings, neckpeices (cheap ones that i can use as props, ei "take this, i want you to have something to remember me by, but im not giving it to you, you can borrow it. I want this back next time i see you")

-shoes, altho im not too concerned with this it would be nice to get some input.

-Cool ties colorful, odd shaped (too thin, too wide, short...etc)

Just a fyi i live in the Philadelphia PA area, so if you mention a store that is local(and not in my area) only bring it up if they have a online ordering thingy. Thanks guys later

**EDIT: Also any sugestions on ear peircings? id be intrested in doin it but dont wana go overboard. Ideas on what ear/ears, both? how many peircings, what part of my ear(s)..etc

After this weekend i should have some pictures of me since i changed my style, i will try and post them in the thread as a visual guide

As far as piercings go, that's a really personal topic in my opinion and although I have no problem giving opinions or suggestions on piercings, I'd really need to see a pic of you first and you still need to make sure it fits your personality. Things like internal ear piercings tend to be more emo/punk, although outer ear piercings tend to go with any style as long as you aren't too classy and square to pull the look off.

Rings and stuff you can find in malls at those little kiosks in the main halls, or custom shops that are usually best found by word of mouth.

Ties are a good salvation army thing, because you can get some crazy ties, but really cheap. My mom got me 2 last year for xmas for like $5 each and one was the best tie ever and was gonna be a major peacocking piece for me, but it got destroyed in the wash.

Fedoras are great, I've got a really cool brown plaid one (featured in my pic) that goes with just about everything. I recommend hitting an actual hat store, or accessory store in a mall. You can sometimes find them in random clothing stores, but an actual hat store will definitely have at least one style.

I honestly can't picture wearing a dress shirt with a tshirt overtop, so if you could post a pic, that would be cool. I know long sleeve t's and short dress or short t's work. It would be neat to see your style though.

I find that being picture friendly makes it seem like you are more "live in the moment" type, because then you are doing some fun stuff in the pictures and just capturing that awesome moment. That's how a lot of people seem to look at it, so I've hopped on board with that.

Ok i wasnt going to log on tonight too lazy but after seeing your back i had too.

Acutane. If you can afford it. It is amazing at curing acne in the long run. Permenatly too, because it actually shrinks/damages your oil glands. See your local dermatologist.

Hmmmm your peacocking. I dont know i would go to the nearest big mall. THen look for a hot topic or speners (have these in Tx dont know about your place) and they always have really wierd/cool things grab some rings, necklaces, belts, and hats. Should put you good.

The long shirt under the Tshirt borders geeky so you better ooze confidece.

Ok, about the pics. As far as your physical appearance, I'd say you have a good look about you now. I agree that the t OVER the button up doesn't do you justice. However, the top pic, with the jacket over the t, looks good on you.

Also, in that group shot, the guy in the center looks TOTALLY AFC, and you, in that pic, look to be about on par with him (sorry man), but the black guy in that pic looks like he IS a PUA.

The other two guys in that pic just look average.

So, anyway, that's my take. Yeah, I'd also recommend checking out Hot Topic or Spenser's if you have those in your city. I don't see why you wouldn't, but you never know. I've gotten myself some earrings from Spenser's that work for me. I have my left ear pierced on the bottom of the earlobe. The normal place that people pierce their ears, at least initially.

P.S. Just a note, something for you to think about . . . girls DO notice your shoes. I wear plain sneakers myself, but the girls DO notice your shoes.

Yeah I agree but to add I think he would look best with the long sleeve with the shirt over. But not like how hes doing it!

To thread maker. Get length stripped dress shirts, no checkered hick shit, and have the colors of the dress shirt match your shirt or it wont work for you.

Aight guys thanks for the feedback. As far as my back goes it is getting better, unfortunatly i do not have medical insurance and am dirt poor so i cannot really do much about it SPAM.

Aparently you guys werent feeling the t over the long sleeve idea. However do you think it would appear less dorky (or more dorky) with a fedora type hat or with some nicer shoes/rings/neck peices?

I do have both of those stores in my area and have just not gotten to one yet. I dont drive so its hard for me to get out, and when i do its on someone elses time.

Could you explain why RJ (the black guy in the pic) looks PUA? To me he looks pretty average as well as far as dress is concerned, is it just a confidence thing?

As far as possibly getting peircings should i go for some ear rings or would i not pull it off well?

In anycase thanks alot guys, im still a work in progress. TTYL.

Im not sure i follow you, what do you mean?

Also i thought about lenght stripe vrs cross pattern on those shirts and i really thought the checkered ones stood out more. They arent flannel lol. However next shirt i get ill do stripes, i just didnt think the stripes matched the tee shirts well.

Also if any of you guys could post some pics to point out specific things you wear or how you wear them to make points thatd be cool, even just to get a better idea of what other PUA's look like

BINGO!

Take notice. You guys are wearing patterned/striped shirts. You all look
the same. Skin color and body language aside (this is a fashion thread),
he stands out because he's not wearing the same thing as everyone else...

I don't know about your area, but where I live, A LOT of guys wear the
un-tucked, vertical striped shirt and jeans. Sometimes you'll stand out
just by being normal and clean cut.

Anyway, I personally don't like the short sleeve over long sleeve look
unless both sleeves are somewhat form fitting. When the long sleeves
are puffy it looks unproportional. Not to be funny, but it makes me think
you're parachuting.

Ok, my wife's take on your pics:

The first one she agrees with me with the exception of she can't see your jeans, and as she said, the look of your jeans makes a big difference too.

On the t over the button up, she says current trends don't work on everyone, so you need to find your OWN style, not just follow the trend. She said try putting that same button up OVER the t and leave the button up UNBUTTONED. She said she thinks that would help you a lot with that look. FYI, I do the same thing. Wear the button up unbuttoned over the t.

Also, she thinks one ear pierced for you would work. And no fedora.

Now, the pic of you and your two buddies . . . to her it looks like the two of you in front are a gay couple because he looks gay in the pic and you are leaning into him, and the guy in the back looks straight.

Now, in the group shot, her opinion is pretty much dead on with mine that I already gave you. She said if she were to approach any guy in that pic it would be the black guy. And yes, it's a confidence issue. Every other guy in the pic looks like they are either being forced to participate or just aren't confident in themselves, whereas the black guy looks like he is saying "here I am! I'm GOING to be a part of this!"

For the older pic, she said it's a little of a grundge look, but in her opinion if you just changed your shirt it would look better. She said the jeans work on you and the hat is ok. Not great, but ok.

That's one woman's take.

Yeah, the top pic looks good. If you better fitting long sleeved dress shirts, or long ts, then you can do the tshirt overtop thing, but otherwise, do like Tripp says and put the t underneath and leave the dress shirt unbuttoned, or at least like the top 3 undone.

I think you could pull off a fedora, but I would go with something a bit darker. I could see brown working on you, but grey, not too much.

When I look at your pic, I can definitely see you with a piercing in your left cartilage. I think its a much tougher look than getting it done in the lobe. I had 2 in mine and just put 2 more in on Friday. It looks pretty cool, going from top to bottom the rings get thinner as they go down. I'll post a pic sometime when they're a bit better healed. One thing about that piercing is it definitely takes a lot longer than your standard piercing, but all the good ones do!

First off someone mentioned that my long sleeves were too baggy, and i agree completely, i think that contributes alot to the negative perceptions of the style i picked. I actually returned a few of my button up shirts prior to this for ones that fit better. The one i am wearing nw fits my arms better and i left the cuffs buttoned.

LA, thanks very much and thank your wife for me.

The jeans i wear in all the pics are the same, Aeropostal boot cut.

I have to say though, not in defensive way, but in a comparitive way with your opinions on the "placement" of the button up and tee. I used to wear the button up out and tee in years back. Maybe it is a location difference, but here that leans towards the "frat boy" look. The typically do the button up over tee left open with a ball cap and jeans here.

Honestly, i got this idea from Style himeself, i saw a pic of him doin much the same thing. I noticed some key differences tho. One, he wore more form fitting button up "dress shirts". Two, he wore plain solid color button up shirts under his tee, which were usually "odd" colors for an AFC to wear, say pink or a shade of purple.

I have to say im actually pretty into the new style i have. I think for me it is more a matter of making sure the articles actually fit right. After that how i wear it may be an issue as well, but less drastic (for instance today i didnt flip my cuffs, left them buttoned and i think i like it more).

I do however apreciate everyones veiws. I think im stuck on the style as i do not see anyone else in my locality dressed the same (and thats the point right, to stand out?). However i do think i need to peacock more, and already agree with some of the points made.

For peircings i would agree, just one lobe you think? Maybe im not the shapest tool in the shed, but which one should i do?

The fedora i probably wouldnt wear with the button up + tee. That would be something i would see myself wearing with the jacket and tee combo. What do you think?

I completely agree with your wife about the pic of me and the 2 guys. I actually laughed pretty hard when i read that. Whats the most funny is the other dude leaning in is about anti gay as you can get, i however am not, as long as im not involved.

As far as the group pic goes that was my first week after finishing The Game. I agree completely now that you mention it, he is the only one who really looks confident. At that point i was still not feeling like jumping into pics. The other pics were taken later and i think you can see it in my face, i wanted to be in them a little more. His standing out however i do not agree is a style thing. In our group maybe, but that night was at a casino, everyone looked (dress wise) like him. I think his standing out was much more an inner game type of thing.

As far as a hat goes, should i ditch the idea completely? or wear certain types with the 2 different styles i presented?

For rings, neck peices, ear rings some people mention places like hot topic. I am hopeing for peices like under 20 bucks each. Like i said im dirt poor, that will hopefully change very soon as i am looking to buy a buisness with a friend (poor not uneducated :P).

Thanks guys, il try and get some other pictures, better quality and maybe some slight changes to my style. You guys are awsome.

-Ka-
