usually i hear them saying something like damn that girl is such a ho or something like that and i usually comment back saying something like OMG WHO I WANNA TALK TO HER.
or something like that
after commenting on their conversation what should i follow up next with?

Listen to what they say and how they respond. Use what they say and their reactions to come up with something to say next.
Otherwise, do a cold read or an opinion opener (even though you no longer need an opener, the opinion question could still keep the convo moving).
