Here Comes My Philosophy

Who is your ideal you?
Think of what values you have, of what kind of world you want to live in and what would be congruent with you in that world.
That’s how you move in the present. By striving for congruency with your ideal self.

Back in the day my thoughts were all on the future. My ideal self was not a continuation of my present self, but a different self altogether. My attempts at becoming that person were focused on things outside myself. I was denying my present self. This went nowhere.

I had to turn inward.
What does it mean to turn inward?
Who are you if not the reflection of how you interact with the world? So turning inward means turning outward by being mindful of how you express yourself, of what you send out.

So you really strive for authenticity. Harmony between your values and your message. And you judge yourself by how truthfully you express yourself. Never by what you get back.

That’s all.

Wow, you're describing something that I'm still struggling with. In the process of finding my way out, or "inward" as you call it, but doesn't it feel like a serious illness when it affects you? If you can remember. I feel like I'm only ever really awake when I'm NOT caught up in these bullshit trains of thoughts about how I SHOULD think, feel and act. They are what leads nowhere.

Can at times feel like I as an entity am not as real as the rest of the world. Like I'm the one weird detail in a perfect environment. I stress "at times" though, usually I like being alive.
