I'll go out with my friends every two weeks because of the situation i'm in (long story)..anyway I have been watching tons of videos on self improvement but the thing is I'm not going to start really going out and meeting people until about 2 months, so is it possible to improve yourself over that time then when the time comes you feel great about yourself??

The hard truth about not going out is that it will NOT build your social skills. Just staying at home and watching videos is great, but it's pointless unless it is put into practice. I've been there and it doesn't look good.

Take this for example.

If you want to be a great football player, do you think watching football videos all day will help you become a better player? No, it won't. Same thing goes with socializing. Why?

Neil Strauss, author of "The Game" once said this. Going out and socializing is like building a muscle. When you go to the gym and workout, you want to start with small weights and then move onto big weights. If you stay at home all day and not work out for a while, it becomes difficult to lift weights.

Same goes with socializing and pick up. You need to go out and train yourself to be comfortable meeting and interacting with people, doing it consistently. If you're just starting out, I would highly recommend doing the newbie mission first: smile, say hi to everyone that passes by you today (maybe 10 people), then walk away.

And by the way, here's a warning about watching/reading too much material before actually trying it out (this is what happened to me). Too much material at once can become overwhelming and cause some frustration because not all PUA material is the same. You might begin to wonder where to start because there is too much material. Just keep it simple and take it in small chunks.

Hope that helps!

It's true. You can't get good at something you haven't done.
Also, learning about something you're not doing can often (in the case of pickup, ALWAYS) make it more difficult to learn.

I don't believe you're that isolated from the world. What are your circumstances?

This pretty much sums it up :)

Your 'situation' is that an injury? go to the shops and ask questions where things are talk to random people or even a simple hello. The point of this is to get used to talking to people. No pressure you don't need to flirt or get their number just ask where something is. You can do this even if you in a wheelchair.

What I did was just go out with a few mates told them how I wanted to improve talking to random women, so we just sat around and I went up and asked a few women the simple question if they thought my friend looked gay, (then said I was asking because a guy tried to hit on him at boost juice and I needed a female opinion)

I did that a few times just in a break at uni, helped quite a bit, every single girl I asked gave me their opinion, and some just keep crapping on about stuff, after that I kindly said thank you for your opinion and have a nice day :)

The shyness factor must definitely be solved "in the field". There is no use at all watching videos or podcasts at home.

Find some wingmen, and go out there.

Aim to fail at first. Just tell youself, the target for today, is to crash and burn with 10 girls. That will take the pressure to perform off.

The weight lifting analogy is a good one. To stay in shape, your training must be current and consistent. Thankfully, this can be done quick. If you went out every day and made it your goal to talk to people, you'd learn fast. No matter how little experience you had.

It's important to work at it EVERY DAY when you begin. 30 days of constant practice is more effective that 2 years of weekend only practice. I know this from experience. Do not skip a day and let yourself relapse.
