I was not sure where to put this thread...
But, I was just wondering what is the purpose of these forum's reputation points, and how they works... Same thing with the "votes".

Posts: 2151 | | there is a little + and - under the posters name. If you like their post you can give them reputation or take it if you don't.
Each time someone gives or take rep they get a vote.
The reason for it is to allow users to see who does good posts!
