I was wondering if there is a way you can get a tattoo designed for you. I really want a tattoo but I don't want something generic and boring, I want something I can be proud of.

I would like to talk to someone, tell them about me and they design some tattoos for me that best suit who I am and my body shape. I can't imagine a tattoo artist would have the time to do this.

Any thoughts? I could put an ad on something like GumTree asking for artists to come forward but I don't want to be overcharged. I want to be presented with ideas. Not me present a tattoo artist with ideas (I'm not artistic enough! But I know what looks good already)

I spend a lot of time in a tattoo shop. I have six and 2 piercings. Find the kind of art you enjoy the most, find an artist in your area and go spend time at that shop with that artist if he/she has time. Toss ideas around and you'll come up with something you'll enjoy. Some of my favorite pieces on me have no thought what-so ever in them, just things he and I both liked and agreed on. He charges $120 an hour, but fortunately we're good friends and I never have to pay full price. Tattoos are great openers as well, women that enjoy them will open you. To me, its worth the price to have nice art on me.
