The Situation:
It's my little brother's 15th birthday and I'm throwing a party for him. I'm a Senior in HS, he's a Freshman. I'm a DJ, so I will be providing the music/mixes and shit. My parents are going to be there, but they're staying upstairs the whole time. Anything that can possibly break is getting locked in my room.

I want people to be tipsy, so I'm stashing up alcohol for it but I need some ideas on how to give it to them. Was thinking to offer it outside before they walk in, so my parents won't see any of that shit. I have a couple close friends helping me throw it. I know I shouldn't get drunk, I was thinking of just getting tipsy at most.

Party is next weekend.

What more do I need to know?
Any special things I should do?
How to act as the party host/DJ?
etc.

I would be kind of wary SINCE you parents may be there, they may suddenly have the urge to "get something from the fridge". When distributing drinks you can NEVER really gauge how people will act so be cautious about that...With that out of the way....

how many guests are you expecting? are any of them heavy drinkers? whats the guy/girl ratio?

drinks wise just do mixes so your parents don't suspect anything make malibu bay breezes for the girls and jungle juice for anyone. Relatively weak drinks (pending how much alcohol you actually put in) that can get your guests tipsy as long as they don't drink excessively.. but when it comes to drinking and teenagers you always run that risk someone will try to "show off".

With mix drinks like that its very easy to get it past parents since they are pre mixed you can just have a few stashed away in a cooler till they go upstairs before the guests come.

Yea the parents thing shouldn't be a big deal. I got 2 bottles of 151 and a bottle of vodka, i don't think we'll be needing more than the 151. So I was thinking to mix that in with some fruit punch, coke, sprite or w/e and that way it shouldn't be a problem.

Theres around 250 invites out on FB, with 150 attending. But the real people who we actually wan't to come got typed invitations. We aren't afraid to kick someone out, especially if we don't know them. I'm not sure how much people I'm expecting to come, and no heavy drinkers. On the list of people attending on fb its about a 1:1. But that's not accurate.

Thanks for the reply.
Any other ideas comments are appreciated.

oh vodka the "tool box" of alcohol no matter what you have to mix it with vodka can go into just about ANYTHING. Wow with that many people in the house I'm not sure three bottles can service that many people.

i usually get invited to a lot of house/frat parties because I am dubbed the "bartender". I am given the money the amount of people expected to come and anything the person may have as a personal favorite. For most house parties ranging from 40+ i tend to have $150-200 of alcohol and mixers.

-Vodka 1-2 HUGE bottles, you generally steer clear from anything with a plastic bottle though. Unless you buy one glass and one plastic to save a few dollars.

-Malibu coconut rum also biggest one, you may need two but you can use your discretion (this is okay for the plastic bottle rule lol).

-Everclear this actually may not be sold in every state or so the rumor goes. It is 190 proof grain alcohol. YOU NEVER DRINK THIS STRAIGHT IT WILL SEND YOU TO THE HOSPITAL. It even has a warning on the bottle to not drink straight and put a mixer in. With all that said I tend to put a little bit in my jungle juice or any drink I believe needs a good firm quick to it. You only ever need a regular sized bottle it will last for some time.

-Peachtree schnapps good when you mix the above ingredients to make "jungle juice" as a bonus add this to rasberry jello and prepare for some of the tastiest jello shots you have ever had.

-Black Haus it is a black berry schnapps that can be taken as a shot or mixed with cranberry juice to be something i call "crack haus".

-Disaronno Amaretto a very sweet almost syrup almond taste to it. Mix with either ginger ale or cranberry.

For mixers:
-Cranberry Juice - can be used with: Black Haus, Amaretto, Vodka, Malibu or Everclear
-Hawaiian punch - used with the first four listed types of alcohol for jungle juice, or if people just want to "water" down their drinks this is fine
-Orange Juice/Sunny D- usually only for Vodka do i'm sure some brave soul could mix with just about anything.
-Tonic Water- I admit this is a pure selfish choice, my staple drink is vodka tonic. It's simple you cannot mess up and its like drinking watered down vodka
-Pineapple Juice- mixed with malibu and cranberry juice to make the ever popular "malibu bay breeze"
-Ginger Ale- recently had this mixed with Amaretto and I can't stop raving of how good it tastes.

along with a 400 count of red plastic cups lol

You may notice i didn't really put anything that "hard" on the list such as jagermiester, jack daniels etc. When it comes to parties usually you go for the mild or sweet drinks for the girls or just the light drinkers. Partly being that guys will not complain and drink just about anything. While girls always like "something that tastes good".

Yea, I already got the alcohol down, but thanks (=. Got 2 bottles of Bacardi 151, 1 bottle of Kettle One Vodka, and half a bottle of Everclear 151. It should be enough, as most of the people coming are Freshman (meaning 14-15 years old) and many of them don't drink. We're only gonna use the 2 bottle of Bacardi, and we're only giving alcohol out at the beginning. We told everyone that after the first 30 minutes, if you want alcohol you have to ask one of 3 people. That way the risk of parents seeing it is lowered.

How would you guys handle a situation where one kid is really drunk and is causing problems? Or if someone throws up?

Thanks :D

sounds like a good plan, always have someone "bar tending" I always volunteered myself seeing as I was good at mixing drinks and it also meant no one can cut me off lol. Usually someone you can trust or yourself so that they can be the authority if they do not want to hand someone another drink thinking they may turn out sloppy.

Preventive measures like stated above so people don't get too drunk, keep an eye out on anyone giving the "drunk signs". Too loud or partying too much you don't want a buzz kill/drama going on at the party. Make sure if someone starts to get drunk to sit them down with some water and have their friends baby sit them till they are a little better. You don't want to seem like you are restraining them too much as most guys will not admit they are drunk or may not realize it.

Good advice, thanks! I got a close friend who's going to be in charge of drinks. So that way I can just DJ the whole time. Soo pumped for this shit. Today my bro web on the fb event and uninvited a good 50-75 people. He said he was uninviting all nerds, shy people and prude bitches. Attending list is down to 115, and that's never accurate. Expecting and hoping for no more than 70, but preparing for the worst.
