When I go out sarging, the main benefit I see of having wingmen is that it relieves stress after an approach is finished. If you get shot down, you have a group that accepts you to go back to and laugh about it. Just in general, its relaxing having like minded individuals around you.

But the other side of winging is helping your wing while in set. I understand the basic concepts of wingmen. Ie they help you isolate and dhv you, but I have never had a wingman significantly help me in a set. I myself have trouble helping my wing in a set.

Do you guys run any winging routines or have you seen any guides/videos of successful winging? I'm starting to think the benefits of having a wing in a set is over exaggerated.

As a pick up artist with a solid game i can tell you that a wingman is not a must have but it sure makes it easyier if you have good communication with ur wing :)

A wingman helps you to :
1) DHV, even not necessarly proactivly but you're not this freaky guys comming alone to the pub.
2) Distract the attention of your target's friends and helps you to isolate her.
3) Put you in a good mood and prevents you to go to bed at 10PM because you're bored. My wing is one of my friends and I'm happy to go out with my wingman just to talk about stuff between two opportunities.

IANAPUA but, I believe another stated purpose is to block obstacles (friends of the target) by keeping them distracted so they don't realize you're running game on their friend and pull them out of the situation.

It is more natural. It doesn't always give better results for sure, but its just more comfortable. Tonight I am going out alone :)

I actually have very few wings with whom I do better than I do by myself. All the above is true, but for me, a good wing helps with one thing above all else: Energy. My current wing and I pump each other up, we both have more fun around the other and are more fun to be around as a combo. So when we hit a venue, it's obvious that no one has as much fun as we do.

We also help each other with intros. Although neither of us has trouble opening any set, one of us will usually know someone in the set or someone who knows somebody in the set. And regardless of your skill, an intro from a mutual friend makes the whole thing so much easier.

i say that it is a good thing to have a wing for sure. but at the same time u have to be able to handle your own. also if u have a wing and he is a complete dumbass that doesnt know what he is doing then u r going to have to pick up the slack and over compensate for him.

If you tell an outrageously amazing DHV story it will sometimes blow up in your face because they just won't believe it, and then if they say you're lying you can't fall into the frame of trying to beg them to believe you.

HOWEVER, if a wing tells it, they will be much more likely to believe it.

So use a wing for DHV stories.

Also use a wing for distraction. I once number closed a girl because my wing kept her mind busy while I pulled her phone out of her hand, put my number in it, and called myself. I could have a number of other things, e.g. kino by using my wing's distraction.
