Hi,

After another self exploration today, it occurred to me how true it is that most people follow unconscious patterns when it comes to taking action. Some of these patterns are very sneaky and we are not aware of them. For example, we all know the story of some one who is stuck in a corporate job and follows a "standard" path, out of reasons of security, or because "this is how it's supposed to be" or just unconsciously following the education of his parents and the society. But there is also another possibility. This possibility is when some one is doing the opposite of what he is supposed to do, a rebel in some sense. This is again an unconscious pattern and does not happen out of a conscious choice.

Another example, is going for a prestigious position, seemingly something that you might desire. Or wanting to become famous. All this can be a consequence of a craving for being loved (maybe because you didn't get enough attention from your mother).

There are many other examples of such patterns.

I will admit openly, a part of why I quit my career and started a business was because I did not want to do "what I'm supposed to do" and although I love doing this and I feel much more liberated and see a greater future ahead of me, I still somehow feel that I could make an even more conscious choice. Of course, it's all a process but it is crucial that we keep asking ourselves the question: "Am I really doing this out of conscious awareness, or am I following an unconscious pattern".

Most things we do, especially when we are not taking care of being more aware, happen out of following unconscious pattens. I find it very important to keep asking yourself this question. When you truly find what you desire, and make a conscious choice, you will skyrocket your attractiveness to women! So, I will end this with a question to all of you:

Are you making conscious choices in the most important areas of your life, or are you following your unconscious patterns?

Some food for thought

Ivan

Sounds like "the power of now" by Ekhart. That was one of the most influential books in my life. I actually wear a key around my neck with a clock face on it and the word now etched into the stem. This is important shit and I think everyone should read the book.

I have read this book a few years ago. At that time it seemed to be a little too abstract and vague. But I'm sure by now I'll be able to understand it much better.

After doing a lot of transformational work with different teachers I now understand these concepts from an experiential point of view, and when backed with experience abstract ideas become more clear. Maybe I should read it again :)

Yes, the first time I read it I was like "I know this shit is cool and important but how do I use it?"

The third time I was ready for the message and it clicked into my reality. Read A New Earth as well if you get a chance.
