when you're chatting/texting with a girl are putting smileys/symbols/emoticons good?

like if you're trying to game a girl is putting a " :)" after certain things good?

if she likes you it's good, if she doesn't it's creepy... it's kind of risky, but it's basically flirting. If your flirting with a girl who's not yet attracted to you, your going to destroy your chances... but if she's attracted to you,then flirting is a good thing.

use emoticons as if they are your voice 'tone' and you can't go wrong.

so like put a :p at the end of a neg or anything thats a little bit cocky but not really funny enough.

as for ':)' I'd only use it after building a fair bit of comfort and using it to show that I am enjoying her responses to my questions. sort of as a reward to encourage her to keep on telling me more about herself. but only ever if I genuinely do like what I am hearing.
