Does anyone know if Plenty of Fish credits is worth getting (where you pay money), or whether it's a total waste of money, as it apparently shows whether your messages sent are read or not and has other features.

You can already see if messages have been sent but it doesn't say if they've been read unless you get these credits. Personally I don't care if it's been read or not, I'm only interested if they've replied so I think it's a waste of cash.

I think plenty of fish period is a waste of time.

But again, matter of opinion =)

Honestly, when I could see if my messages were read or not, it just frustrated me... and to my surprise quite a few messages get "Unread Deleted". I like it better this way.

Waste of money mate. Make changes to your headline occasionally, switch thumbnails around (something that pops out as a thumb), and sign onto the website a few times a day even if you don't have a message (not for long though). You'll pop up in the recents section of any online dating site with these little things.

Yeah that's true Mig, those little things help. I get at least 3 or 4 first messages a week from women. However they are mostly fatties or women with children so I usually just ignore. I actually got a first message from a HB 8 around my age ......but she had kids so I was like dammit! Seems like a lot of young women get desperate if they have kids and get ditched by the dad. So yeah with POF at least it's either fatties or women with children who will send a message to you first.

Waste of time for me personally in a small town. Not enough artistic / creative types. Too many Dull Janes in nursing. I want to calibrate against a city that I actually know has creative types and creative personals, like Seattle. At least they did back in the day. Maybe I'll move somewhere based on the personals.

This week I was sent first messages by an HB 8 nurse, an HB 10 model, a HB 8 waitress, and a HB 7 who's extremely athletic, and a young but hot girl from Bangladesh who now lives in my small city (plus about 10 2-6's). Those girls send out messages too...it's just they are very selective!

My headlines are always creative. Ex. "Let's Just Go Sledding" was one I had for a week and got tons of messages on. Also, my thumbnails always stand out (my current one has me at halloween dressed as a doctor...I think women click on it purely for the possible $...but that's ok). And my profile is DIFFERENT, but not weird.

When I started online, I had to do all the work to get women to respond back to me...now I don't even send first messages.

Hey Mig, what do you mean by "different"? Also how do you make your thumbnails stand out?

1) Online dating is like doing research for a paper. You don't just sit down and write a paper, you do research first. Look at your competition for guys, and look at what they've written. You don't have to be the best looking guy in your state; just have the best profile within 100 miles!

Differences between my profile and others. Instead of listing my interests and how awesome I am I say something like "I used to have a list of things I liked to do, such as: taking tango classes with strangers, making a complete mess in the kitchen, serenading girls outside their window with my guitar..." you get the point. Instead of saying I like dancing, I describe it and make it spontaneous. I don't say I like cooking...I say I like to make a mess in the kitchen. And I don't say I play guitar...I put the idea of me serenading them outside their windows...into their heads! The best part of all, is I start it off by saying that I USED to have this list...and then I say something like, "But now I just want to find someone to go sledding with and who'll make me hot chocolate." - I get 2 messages a day focused strictly on hot chocolate.

Women (and men) have these great memories of their childhoods (going to write a post on this later) and if you can get them into that state...they are automatically going to be happy/nostalgic and feel like they know you a little bit.

2) Thumbnails stand out...easy. Colors, placement of face in photo, and accessories. My current thumbnail is me in Scrubs with a surgical mask on. It stands out. Prior to that I was wearing a bright red shirt against a crazy blue sky. Look at females thumbnails and notice what makes you pick theirs. If you are good looking...have it be a closer up photo so they can see your face... if not...distract them :)

Is there any reason why, if you report a lady to PoF for having a fake profile photo (I use the tineye photo search website), the lady's profile no longer comes up when you type it in, in the username section, yet the profile shows up under a 2nd PoF account I have.

Waste of money, it could only be good for follow up responses to try and reopen if they didn't respond. When you buy them they use they on every email you send, not just the ones you want. So if you sending tons of emails with different HB's, not worth it at all.
