The Skeptic Persian Sweetheart

Reviews welcome with open arms: I always want to progress my knowledge. Thanks guys!

It was just another Friday night at the coffee shop. I was enjoying the conversation with Rhythm and Backhand. Rhythm was eager to hit a set, any set. I was miserably sick so I wasn’t my enthusiastic self, but I still wanted to give it a shot.

I made my first glance at Maryam after Rhythm had pointed her out and I thought she was cute, but it was from a distance and I couldn’t see her best qualities. Rhythm said lets practice on them and hit the set together. I agreed, though I usually don’t hit sets with another person.

Rhythm approached using his own version of jealous girl friend, which was very developed and sounded believable. Their table consisted of two guys and three girls. Both Rhythm and I are new to the PUA community (7 weeks), so hitting a set with guys was very intimidating. I had only hit 2 other sets before this which involved guys and they both went very well. In fact, I recently went out with one of those guys last Saturday night!

Half way through his jealous girl friend approach, The target in the group, Maryam, asked me if I went to Cottonwood High School. This was such a strange question considering I had never met this girl and that it had been 10 years since graduation. I told her yes and the year of my class. She said with a big smile, “yes, me too class of ‘97… I remember your face”. I was shocked and was not expecting it. I shrugged it off and got involved with jealous girl friend. All the girls loved giving us advice, but strangely, so did the guys.

After that we all small talked for 10 minutes or so. They wanted to go inside so I agreed as they followed me into the coffee shop. We all sat down, with Maryam sitting next to me, which I took as the second IOI. The first was her asking my name and other questions about me. After we sat down she immediately started asking me what I’ve done since high school. So I gave her insight into my world the last 10 years. I asked her the same questions.

It was time to DHV. I wasn’t feeling well, so I was glad that Rhythm was there to talk to the others in the group. I was starting to sense that our conversation was winding down. I mean there is only so much a person is going to say about the last 10 years of their life, right? So, after about 10 or 15 minutes of that, I ran the cube on her. Like all the other times in the past, it worked so well. I read her like a book. She was so in the moment and entertained that she had a friend come over and listen to me. After I was finished she told me that I was “92% accurate”.

During the cube process I was looking directly into her eyes, which I found out later she just loved. During the process she said to her friend “His eyes are so intense as he is reading me”. I was on fire and she knew it.

Afterwards, I overheard her tell Rhythm that she shared an “intimate moment with me” while we were gazing into each others’ eyes. She explained that in her culture, when two people look at each other like with such intensity, it’s so powerful. I took this as another IOI.

Meanwhile I was talking to her friend about her culture and about being an American citizen and what it means to her. I was then able to guess her friend’s age, which was a lucky guess. I said “I bet I can also guess your birthday”. Maryam, overheard and told me that her friend had already told me so. I couldn’t remember her doing it, but again I was ill. I said “well then I will guess your other friend’s birthday. They all agreed, as Rhythm took over beautifully.

When I hit the birthdate right on, everyone was in shock. One guy said “Maybe he is just physic”. Maryam was not convinced and insisted that it had to be a trick of some sort. She demand that I tell her! She wanted me to do it again. I told her that I was not a performing monkey and that I usually charge for it. She just smiled and I knew she wanted more. At that moment she became mysteriously attracted.

I wanted to end on a high so I invited her and her friends to hang with us at Liquid Joes for 80s night because I knew Maryam loved 80s music. I told her I would call her, but because I forgot her name I handed her my phone and she put her name and number into it. She didn’t notice that I had no clue about her name. She told me that she would love to come to Liquid Joes. I told her and her friends that it had been a pleasure.

Evaluation of HB8-

I gave myself 9 out of 10. I was good tonight, but it was not a normal opening. It didn’t really matter because we still got their attention. I could have attempted a bit more kino. I could have also thrown in a couple negs along with some pebbles but I just forgot to do it, which is so unlike me. Another minor thing was the whole birthday guessing process. We need to deliver it better, in that it’s not presented like a routine, but rather something that is just random. Maryam stated that we were like a magic show. “What do you do, go around telling people who they are then guess their birthday”, she said. I was compared to Copperfield, which was flattering but not even a close comparison. Fortunately, my routine was more than just cube and birthdays, but it was this that was successfully done, which was something that Maryam and her friends would not forget anytime soon.
