Hi guys.

I am a newbie experimenting in Singapore. Somehow here, talking to strangers generally isn't common and is considered abit uncomfortable. People are more reseaved towards talking to strangers, who are likely to "get something from them" for example doing sales.

A frustrating experience today was getting one line answers for opinion openers. Girls here seem to do the bare minimum in such a conversation. It was diffiult to avoid a situation of "interrogation".

How?

Experienced gurus please help.

So I did my first approach tonight with a line I developed for here in the Philippines.
It was a two set so I said, "Can I get your opinion on something? (look up to make eye contact and smile) Which is a better to place to meet people to practice speaking Tagalog: a park or the mall? (One was a babe the other... well other)

The conversation lasted a few lines but what I realized and what I thought I didn't want to do was, I need to come up with a set script of what I am going to say to transition, create value, comfort and the whole shebang. My experience here in Asia is that I can break the ice and get a smile but I will have to create the comfortable space so that they will open up.

Sounds like both of us have some more reading and writing to do. Then back to the field! Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice.

I suspect that in Asia the comfort and rapport building in the begining needs to be greater.

When I was a college AFC I opened on American chicks (international students) and it was pretty smooth even though I knew nothing about the game. They were very open to talking to talking to strangers and there seems to be no need to build comfort.

Ya more effort on comfort building script. Go!

What if you go direct? If you come in smiling with good posture and body language, would that work on Swedish girls? See Jeremy Soul's videos. Try using his line. I hooked a 2 set from Sweden who were visiting my city, using his direct opener.

Singaporean ladies are extremely caution with the people they meet, no doubt.

It really depend on what kind of HB you meet, however, my strong point that I have always depend on (and that works) is the foundation of peacock theory. With that settled, you will naturally be a HB magnet. And you will simply need a veryyyyy simple opener, a couple of negs and jokes.

Chances of getting her number, almost close to 100%.

Try it out and let me know buddy.
