So I am being accused of sexual harassment by a coworker. I am an Resident Adviser at a university. A coworker has a accused me of calling her between 5-6am this morning and making lewd comments and sexual innuendos. I have had the cops tell me that I was guilty! He said "I know you did it." I guess him trying to force a confession? But there is a couple of problems with this.
1. I was asleep
2. My phone shows no record of the call only the missed call when she called to ask if it was me.
3. I am not retarted
4. She said it she was woken up by the private call around 5 am (who is coherent enough to make a judgment of who is talking on the phone by voice alone at 5am) and she said she called me by name (why would the caller admit to their true identity if they can hide behind mine?)

I am really shaken up about all this because she was a friend but know I am just scared of being falsely accused and my named soiled.

Advoid contact with this girl don't talk to her about anything dont even engage if she tries to talk to you first I'm sure u already know this I'm just reiterating the fact of how important it is. YOU know did nothing wrong get ur story straight and stick with it she has no concrete evidence of who called her. As an RA u might have enemies that could be responsible for this nonsense.

Yeah that is the path I am taking. But still I am surprised how much I am affected emotionally by the accusation. I am actually afraid it is going to affect my game. It almost makes me terrified to approach any women right now.... any advice for that?

put your priorities in order, this is obviously the most important, deal with it first and everything else can wait

If u have family u should let them know about the situation going on before it gets out of hand this is a serious matter your being accused of.
Right now the situation is under review and could possibly affect your RA job status. RA pays for Room and Board. Good to have a Dad or Mom who can intervine with whoever is over the RA's making the decision. Keep your head up focus on those grades

Tell her you're going to press charges on her for defamation if she doesn't shut the hell up. She can't go around telling people you did this without actual proof.

Then get your phone provider to give you a copy of your monthly calls, show this to the police and the person in charge and tell her to shut the fuck up.

Thanks for all the support guys. I have told them and my boss is on my side! She was pretty upset about the cop and how he treated me. BUt hopefully soon this will blow over.

If the cops say, "I know you did it" again, then you just tell them that you were asleep, that you can give them your phone records if it will help in their investigation (being polite and professional) and that if they need to ask you any questions, that will be fine, but until they have anything more than hearsay from a girl that was half asleep and who's caller id didn't identify the caller, then they shouldn't accuse you of anything, or you will bring up harrassment charges against them. Getting a handle on the situation and putting yourself in a position where you are being more professional and polite than someone that is harrassing you helps level your emotions out and makes you feel confident (I get a lot of shit from customers at work trying to sue me or tell me I'm tresspassing when I'm trying to repair phone lines). Just go by the books and you can't get in trouble. The thing that makes so many people end up looking bad is that they freak out and that is something that guilty people typically do. Keep your cool and you'll be fine buddy.
