Here's the situation, I met this girl at work party. She was with 2 well known lesbians and I figured she was a lesbian as well by their interactions all night. I found out she is straight and single. I assumed she was a lesbian, I did neg her a few times all night and she was asking questions about me, vice versa. Not to mention that someone kept saying I was gay (jokingly) I tell her friend after she left and I found out she is single; I would have asked for her number if I knew she was straight and single. Her friend tells her, I'm interested and she said "I had a cute face", I give my number to her friend to give to her, the friend texts me and gives me her number. Her friend said "here is her number, she said to give it to u!"....she said "don't be crazy aggressive and she is interested in you (me)"

Now, I know she is interested, I did neg her a few times, etc. She does not have my number...What should I text her? I'm looking to date her, not a one nighter if that matters...I'm new to this. I was thinking "tag ur it"

I like where your head is."Tag ur it" is a good way to to start. Your text communicates, "I'm interested, but I'm not going to chase you like a lost puppy". Most guys would have texted "hey beautiful, remember me", or some other qualifying sappy message. Keep it playful and challenging.

She does not have your number, you just have hers correct? so you have to tell her who you are, "tag your it" might be kind of strange in that situation.

Could I say "hey, it's the really good looking guy from the work party"?

if you came of cocky and she like it then you can say that but i feel you should say something a little more clever, which is a cocky funny at the same time reveals a clue who you might be. if she gave her number out to many guys she well freeze out and wont respond. no female wants to come off as a hoe.

It all depends on what you have displayed earlier.
If you played it C&F or seemed really confident I dont think there is any need to overcomplicate your text.


I love JayWa's comments and have had only good replies after texting:
"I like you, but Im not in like with you yet. Are you in like with me?"

They'll answer like: Not yet

And I go: "We better try to impress each other over some icecream then..."

But this is only if the convo was good!
Or else its a bad idea.
