by reading articles on NLP you see these little things matter greatly, so i decided to figure out what to always do in any common spesific incident

I'd never ask her "do i know you" that's lame and it'll bring you nowhere but to a rejection.

I'd add her and take a short review over her profile, find some information from her interests, activities, workplace, even check out her photos, then I could write her some skeptical sentences about what I've seen on her profile, such as:

"You overdo it, with your attempts to impress people.."
If she got glasses, bridge whatever it is..
"This *thing you had noticed* is very fits you, adds some charm to you"
or as I usually do on first chats
"Psst.."
-Yep, only 'psst', she'll answer you, trust me.-

if you got no mutual friends it's pretty obvious you don't know her.
Wait a week then ask her if she's shy. she'll either answer positive or negative so you need to think ahead of how you're going to handle either. either way can be related to the fact she added you but then didn't say hi.

if you have mutual friends you could ask if you met her somewhere you could have been with those mutual friends. Possibly with some funny reason why you've (obviously) forgotten who she is.
