when the night comes all my friends bail because they have other things to do and it ends up being the two of us i decided to take advantage of this and invited her to dinner after dinner we took a walk got some icecream and went to see a movie
i followed some advice i found on the forum and moved up the arm rest and put my arm around her and we got close and i thought things were going pretty well we were chatting and holding hands and having a good time i attempted to make a move for a wordless k-close on several occasions, but she kept looking away (probably my fault we didnt hold eye-contact for long enough) i then asked her if she wanted to kiss me and she responded by going psshtt and giving a fake laugh the rest of the "date" got pretty awkward and when she was gone i thought i would be able to look past it but then i recieved a text from her saying how she had fallen for me in the times that we hung out
is there any chance someone can critique my actions and figure out where i went wrong?

It's possible you could work on the way you go for a kiss (you don't really want her going "pshh" after you ask for a kiss, which you should never "ask" for in the first place), but far more important is how you react after you get turned down. If it's no big deal and you keep rolling and having fun, that's super attractive and wins you more points than if nothing happened at all. Which is probably why she texted you after.
Anyway the fact that she agreed to go to dinner, see movie, walk and get icecream, that's pretty "date-like", and you're making progress. So I wouldn't be stressing. Keep in contact with her and keep flirting with her on the phone, don't be too pushy with setting something up but do keep it in mind to set up something eventually.
